Flambe has seemed a little "off" lately.  He's still insistent on play attention, etc., and he's eating OK, but he seems so skinny.  His fur is ... kind of "frowzy."  But he's never been "silky."  Just not his fur type.  But I noticed today his nictitating membranes are showing on his eyes, a little.  I'm going to try to get him into the vet tomorrow.  He had giardia when we first got him, and we treated it then and got a clean fecal test.  When Sugar had giardia, we treated him, too.  He's been treated for worms, etc.

He's just such an odd cat that it's hard to tell.  But the eyes are worrying me.

Carolina knows this boy.  In fact, she met him at the shelter before he ever came home.  I hate to take him to the vet, because he hates it there.  Last time, he bit the vet.  But I really feel bad for him.

Oh Mike, I hope it is nothing. But we all know that nagging feeling and usually our gut instinct is right. Good vibes for him.

Flambe's eyes have always looked "odd."  Of course, they're a beautiful light blue, but they tend to seem to be dilated more than normal.  Right now, with the membranes showing, he looks a little cross-eyed, too.

I'd take in a stool sample, but I can't catch him in the litter box.

Just got back from the vet.  No FIV.  No Feline Leukemia.  Bloodwork all normal.

They had to gas him to examine him; he goes crazy there.

He's lost almost a pound in the last year, and he only started off at a little less than 8 lbs.

We'll wait to see a full fecal test.

The vet did say some worrying things.  She mentioned FIP, although he has no symptoms.

If I were a betting man, I'd go with a relapse of giardia plus maybe roundworms or tapeworms, although we've seen no signs of the tape worms, except Flambe scooting on the carpet.

EDIT:  The vet also mentioned cardiomyopathy, but, again, no real symptoms of it.

Just putting in my vibes that it isn't something too serious (NOT FIP
)

  It must have been a relief to at least have the bloodwork come back normal. I hope he's doing better.

Scooting can be anal gland problems.  BTW how old is Flambe?

PS the last person bitten by one of my cats at the vets was me - I got 7 days of seriously strong antibiotics from the GP, where he had bitten was very swollen and red the next morning.  Unfortunately it was 5pm and the local small injuries clinic had just shut.  The vet touched his bad tooth - he was too frail to have it removed..

He's doing about the same today.  He still eats, uses the litter box, and plays.

He's about 3 years old, maybe?  Possibly 2; I'm really bad about keeping track of this!
