Hello Cat Lovers. My tabby fixed male cat is approx 9 months old. There is another larger tabby male cat that stared coming around and my Buster is terrified of this cat. When this other cat comes around he jumps on the rail and his hair stand up and his little heart is beating like crazy. Now he is afraid to go outdoors. What can I new! PS I am just learning about cats! Thanks for help..Maddy

If your cat wants to stay inside, let him. It's safer. You don't want him to get into a fight with the other cat . He could be seriously injured or get a disease.

Why does this BIG cat want to attack my smaller cat?  Thanks

Does this cat want to attack your cat? I actually don't know that. Has he attacked your cat?

Cats are territorial - that's usually what they fight about. He may see your yard (do you have a yard?) as his territory or wants to take it away from your cat and claim it as his own. If the large cat is not neutered, he is most likely very territorial and aggressive and sees your cat as a threat to both his territory and mating rights to local females.

We live on a hill, there are other cats but I have never seen this one until yesterday. Your right, I havn't seen him attack Buster, Buster just freaks out! Today, he came on to my deck as if he lives here. I kept Buster in. He saw the big cat and ran under the bed. I really appreciate your replies.
