STEWIE – Free to a WONDERFUL HOME

Stewie is a 3 year old TICA registered Black Silver Classic Tabby Maine Coon in need of a home.  He is neutered, declawed (front) and is strictly an indoor cat.  Unfortunately, Stewie does not enjoy the company of dogs.  Maine Coons typically do – and he loved our older dog but when we brought two new puppies into the house Stewie was quite upset and has been for almost a year now.  We have made sure there is nothing medical going on and have seen several behavioralists and unfortunately, the recommendation is that we find a new home that is pet free.  He loves to be brushed, lay by the fire, always wants to be near you, but not on top of you.  He’s a conosseur of fine food – loves Taco Bell and barbecue potato chips and spaghetti with a touch of sauce is his favorite.  While he does love Christmas, his favorite holiday is Halloween – he loves to watch the trick-or-treaters by the door or window and never tries to get out.  We love Stewie so much and it breaks our hearts to have to do this, but we ultimately want what is best for him.  If you feel you might be able to provide a loving home for Stewie, please contact me.

GOOD NEWS!!!  Stewie must have read this post (and to be honest, I found some excellent suggestions here that I had not thought of) and actually used his litter box last night for the first time in 6 months!!!!!  I got him a larger litter box and purchased some of the Cat Attrack litter and so far, fingers crossed, it seems to have done the trick!!!

Wait, you are giving him away because of litterbox issues or the dogs?

I'm glad things are looking up for the moment, and hope it continues. Just wanted to add before you just give Stewie away you should contact his breeder. Most have in the contract that we'll either take back or help assist with rehoming. They are always our special babies, we like to know where they are!
He or She would also be a good resource for any behavioral issues you've got.

Welcome! I really hope you end up keeping Stewie and working through the litter box issue. Glad that you found some tips here on site to help. Maybe he will also start accepting the dog too then :cross: :vibes::vibes:

Hi!

My name is Emily and I am very interested in Stewie. We do not have any dogs so that wouldn't be a problem. Please send me a PM
