I've been concerned about the lack of a source of edible grass for my four indoor-only cats, so I was wondering if anyone has tried, and/or can recommend "Pricilla's Grass"? I would also like to know about any similar products, or what others do to provide edible grass or live plant matter for their indoor cats.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Every pet store I've been to sells kitty grass (already sprouted in pots) which is usually oat grass, I believe. You can buy seed packets, too, at a garden store and possibly a pet store.
I got my cats a spider plant and it's not dead yet. They chew on it more than actually eat it.
You can get a catnip plant, too.

Thanks, it never occured to me to ask. The Pricilla Grass is pretty cheap, but the shipping (from California) is ~$40.00! $40 to ship a $6.00 pot of live grass. Willowy, thanks, but I don't have time to try growing my own.

). It costs $3.99 at PetCo here, might cost more in a big city like NYC. Keep in mind that it only lives a couple of weeks (if the cats don't kill it sooner) so you don't want to pay too much. It's not a perennial houseplant. That's why I grow my own. . .I can have a new pot of it sprouting before the old pot dies off.- Ritz

I need to move to South Dakota--pre-grown cat grass costs $6.99 at PetCo in Washington, DC.
Which is why I'm starting to grow my own. You can buy the kits in the grocery store ($2.99), it really doesn't take much time and is fairly purple-thumb proof. In fact, I started this batch ten days ago when it was cold outside, and despite the weather, the seeds germinated. Ritz is happily munching on the grass now.
There is an organic kind that is sold in high end stores; it needs sunlight to germinate. Then there is the kind sold in grocery stores where (after you put the seeds in the soil) you place the container in darkness to germinate, then move to a sunny area. My condo only gets morning sun, and the grass still grew.
My niece works in a lawn, landscaping and nursery store and has two cats of her own. She suggested that I buy packets of seeds marked "cat grass" at your local HomeDepot/Lowes (for about $1) and put them in organic soil. She did stress, organic soil, no added pesticides or preservatives.
Good luck!
