Mittens

It's been a long time since I have posted something here on the Cat site. I am an old member from back in the mid 2000's. Since getting my teaching job in 2006, I haven't been able to be on here as much as I would like to.......

My story started out with adopting Mittens on Jan. 1, 2003. We brought him home that day and he weighed 25 pounds. After about 2 years of having him lose weight and down to a good 14 pounds, he started struggling with frequent UTI's. Many years of therapy and love, my sweet boy crossed over the rainbow bridge last night. It was the most toughest decision I have ever had to make. Those of you that know me, understand completely. I am here sharing this with all of you because The Cat Site was here for me during his weight loss and his surgery and many days and nights of asking questions on "what to do next" to make his life a suffer-free one.

Please pray for me and my family as we continue to mourn over the loss of our sweet Mittens.

Oh honey, I am so very sorry....this sure rips us apart doesn't it?hugs.gif

Please try to take comfort that no stone was left unturned for your beloved Mittens in his care and every drop of love you could give him was given. Like you, a week ago today I lost my little girl.  So you have come to the right place for people who know the sadness.

Try to dwell on the good times, although it is hard with such a fresh wound.  Small steps I guess.  Sometimes I just talk out loud to her.  I tell her she is such a pretty little girl.  That helps me somewhat.....sometimes.

I look for the day both you and I can look back with a smile and not a tear.

God Bless your sweet Mittens.  What a good life he had with you.  He was a lucky kitty to have a family who cherrished him so.  I think Mittens and Beeshee Marie are getting to know eachother as I write this.

And God bless you for your devotion to Mittens.rbheart.gif

Caprice, I remember you too and learned from your story with Mittens. I'm so sad that he's passed away. He was a very lucky cat to be adopted by such a caring, responsible owner. Thanks to you he had a much longer, healthier and happier life than he would have had otherwise. I hope that knowledge gives you comfort as you grieve his loss.
Rest in peace Mittens. rbheart.gif

Thank you old friends :) I am happy too that he is no longer suffering. I do miss him terribly though.
