Hello,

My cat has been tilting his head to the right side after cleaning his ears!

Got checked 3 times and no sign of anything!

Gave me pills to use for 5 days.  Round pills have a this writing engraved in it: west ward 475

He said it could be a behavioral issue.

Any ideas?

It's more likely an inner ear problem, which would not be discernible from any external examination, I think.  Do a search here for the word "vestibular," and I think you'll find some messages about it.

So the vet checked him three times?  No mites?

What is the name of the meds he is on?  Yes a head tilt can indicate Feline Vestibular Syndrome.  It is believed it is a problem with the fluid in the ears.  I have had cats with this. Some never loose the tilt, some do.  They go on to lead a regular life...only look like the are questioning you all the time! lol

How does your kitty walk?  Does he seem dizzy too?  FVS has those symptoms also.  Sometimes called "dizzy kitty syndrome".

Good luck with your litle one.

And how is it diagnosed?

Yes, just wax I believe.

He was normal, I just started cleaning his ears for a couple of days with an ear cleaning solution.  I've noticed the tilting and thought he might need a cleaning, ear is tilted and he wouldn't let me touch his right ear.
Also he does scratch his ears both sides (are they linked with the tilting?)

He walks normal.

The tilting is most noticeable after cleaning his ears, then it fades around the next day.

As for the pill Cloud looked it up, it's prednisone

Looks like the medicine is prednisone.  It is a steroid with anti-inflammatory properties.
Thanks.
