I'm sorry if this is a basic question, but how should I handle vomit after a meal?  Someone threw up about 5-10 minutes after eating and now all three cats are enjoying a second meal.........
I think it happened a couple days ago too because I noticed a weird stain but I didn't put the two together until just now.

So first order of business I have to figure out who's throwing up?  I'll watch them after the next meal.  Nothing's changed about mealtime except tonight they had Before Grain quail & chicken instead of their usual Sophistacat.  I know that's a pretty big jump in quality as Sophistacat, while low-carb, is primarily by-product based.  But if the stain from 2 days ago is from vomit, that would have happened after a normal Sophistacat meal.  I also feed the high-quality grain-free stuff every few weeks when I get a few extra dollars anyway - and to my knowledge there was no puke then.

Once I figure out who's throwing up, what should I do?  I've never had this happen before so I'm sorry for being clueless
Everyone seems okay, running around, etc., and all three were eating the vomited food.

I think they will be ok. Just don't feed that food to them that you think is causing one of them to vomit if you don't have to or if you have to, mix a little of that food in with the other food. I hope that helps.

Throwing up is a standard cat feature. I'm surprised you haven't had it happen before. As long as it's not excessive it's not usually something to worry about. Just keep an eye on them, and if it seems like someone isn't feeling well or if one of them starts throwing up every day, then call the vet.

Hi Anna - Vomit Happens :lol3:..... Probably ate too fast. Some cat's turn into "scarf and barf"er's :(.. Try to spread out the meals into smaller meals so they don't eat so much at one feeding. I do not have much vomiting at all - very rarely. My cat's eat a few small meals a day and it is all grain-free foods and/or raw commercial meats. I would stay away from corn, soy, wheat, grains and by-product. Some cat's do just fine with those ingredient's.... other's not so. :wavey::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Sorry for the stupid question - I've never had a cat throw up!  I'm sure the cats at my parents' house did but they were outside so I didn't know about it.  To my knowledge this was the first time for the kittens unless it was vomited then eaten as it was last night.  So I guess it's no big deal... just got scared.

There is NEVER a stupid question. I am the "queen" of dumb questions and you know what - I find out that even MY questions are not as dumb as I thought. :lol3: That is what we are here for - to support you in anyway possible. Don't ever feel embarrassed or dumb asking a question - vomiting is something to worry about if it is continuous and you will never know unless you ask :hugs: :D
