He's been gone for three days =(

I'm hoping that he's hangin' out with his new girlfriend. Here's the story so far:

The last time I saw him was on Saturday. Everything was fine; I was outside fixing my bike, and I let him out. I scratched his head and said hello, and he wandered off to do his kitty stuff. He starting meowing--which I believe his his call to this new black cat I've seen around lately.

End of story! He walked across the street, meowing and meowing, went behind a house (which is nothing unusual), and I haven't seen him since.

Is he neutered? It is approaching the time of year when un-neutered males go off in search of females. I do hope he comes home soon - but it is time to be pro-active in looking for him. Ask all the neighbours, go to the next streets around too. Call the local vets, animal shelters, pharmacies, and anywhere that you think people may gather - even churches and schools. Make a poster with his photo on and put copies anwhere that you are allowed to. Check all sheds and garages in the area, or ask people to do so. Good luck.

He is not neutered. It's on my "things-to-do" list. He's about 2 years old now.

He had a collar on, so that will hopefully help.

That makes me so sad.  I hope he comes home quickly.   Just try checking all the neighbors, shelter, etc.

Many vibes for a quick homecoming (and it's definitely time to neuter him - and maybe make him an indoor cat if possible).

I am sure you "tomcat" is out looking to breed :(. I pray he does come home - and when he does :please: get him neutered right away - do NOT let him roam outside to breed. How sad on two count's. One I want your cat to find it's way home. Two - I am sad that he is out breeding. :sigh: He will always be disappearing like that and now more than ever because he is two years old and a full grown tomcat.

I hope he comes home soon :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Cat came home tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!

Five (freezing cold) days he was gone, and it shows. He's sick, lost a lot of weight (at least one notch on his collar) and has been eating like crazy.

I let him in, petted him, brushed him, pulled a tick off him, brushed him with a different brush, checked him over, gave him a hug. Then: chow time! A full can of tuna (that my mom gave me for him) and then a couple of servings of his favorite: raw liver.

OH HAPPY DAY!

I called animal control on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday) and he told me that they usually come back after five days--and he was right! I let him out on Saturday afternoon; Thursday afternoon he was waiting for me. Apparently that's the magic number.

I think that he might have actually given me his belly tonight--something that he's never done in the two years that I've owned him.

Excellent!!

Now... please get him neutered before you let him out again so that he doesn't impregnate any more females. Which he almost certainly did during that time.

I am so glad! But yes, you must get him neutered. He will be out again as soon as he is recovered, and he will not only find females, he will get into fights with other males and come home (if he is able to) injured. The results of a mating fight are not pretty. But it is great that he is home.

So glad he is back home safe and sound. It is clear that you do love this cat too . To keep him safe and from breeding other cats... You must get him neutered - he will most likely disappear or get loose again and then that time he might not return. Please do NOT let him outdoors to go and breed and make more unwanted, feral kittens. It is a very cruel life. I hope we hear from you that you have the appt. all set up for the neutering :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
