Could you all spare some prayers or vibes for my little girl.  She has only had breakfast today, and has turned her nose up at food to sleep.  Vet in am as soon as they open.  She is only going to be 3 years old.  I pray it's not something serious.

Thanks guys.

They go off their feed for inscrutable reasons, sometimes, just like we do.  I hope Beeshee is doing better soon!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
That happened to us with Tuxedo about two weeks ago. It was a Monday... and the vet wasn't in Wednesday, so we went Tuesday. She could find nothing wrong - no temp, etc. Did full blood work. The results came in Wednesday morning, and they called - everything perfect. Well - his white blood cell count was "a little" low, so MAYBE he was fighting a slight something. Of course, he started eating that afternoon.

:vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: she's just feeling a little "off," and everything will be just fine!

Thanks for all the kind words of support.

She is the same this am.  I found her laying by the colder door to the back hall.  There is a rug there to keep out a draft.  She must have liked the cooler air.  But then, I see her behind the desk against the baseboard heat.  sigh.  No eat again.

Well vet opens at 8.  Will call then.

Again, thanks for your concerns.  I will update as soon as I get back.

Hoping it's nothing serious.  Mine sometimes just go off their food, for no apparent reason.  I think maybe they get bored or something.   Who knows with these little beasties.

for a clean bill of health

Well after a crazy day...I am home with Beeshee Marie.

She has a level 6 heart murmer.  He cannot say if it is heart disease until more tests are done....echo cardio...some other things.  I didn't hear much after "heart murmer".  Sugar was a tad over 200 but he pretty much attributed that to stress.  Other showings say possible gall bladdar issues.  I plan on getting a copy of the bloodwork and will post it.  No fever.  My God, she is only 3...not even 3 till April.

We have her on an appitite stimulant and amoxy incase there is an infection in the gall bladdar.  We wish she had a fever.....now we don't know what we are fighting.

The main thing to do is get her to eat.  He gave her sub q fluids and I just now got her appitite stim in her.

I need to exhale and absorb this all.  Tried to put her back with her mom and brother and mom was hissing at her.  So she is in with me for a bit.  Don't want her getting beat ;up on top of all this.

So if you can, please send whatever you have her way in the way of prayers and vibes or just good thoughts.

Thanks for everything.....you are the best..as usual.

Aw hun.... :hugs: There are a number of other TCS kitties with heart murmers, so you may want to do some searching, or start a new thread. I'm SURE they'll be able ot help.

I do know that feeling - you hear the news, and everything just starts buzzing. :lol3: You'll calm down, and then write down all your questions for the vet. :hugs:

:vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: for you and your girl! Hope the app stimulant works. The sub-q fluids will help her feel a little better. Hopefully you won't have to syringe feed her, but we can help you with that too. :hugs:

Thank you....I just managed to get approx. 12 plus ml of milked down baby food in her.  The chicken and broth one....nothing else in it.  She weighs 11 lbs.  I am not sure if that was enough, but I didn't want to give too much at one time and have her throw it up again.

She is very lethargic still.  Just wants to lay there.  Her brother is washing (licking off the extra food on her coat) her.  That may give her some comfort and Fetch a little treat.

I am going to start another thread now about the murmur.

It is so nice having all these ears to bounce things off of.

I am calming down, but still on the verge of tears.  Thanks again everyone.

Over the river and through the woods...
Oh honey, I hope BeeShee Marie feels better soon!
From what I understand, a heart mummer in itself isn't necessarily serious. I hope everything else comes back ok.

As for not eating, our Gizmo has feline herpes and basically stops eating when he has a bad flare-up. We've found that hand feeding him kitten milk and beef bullion from a syringe helps him get the nutrients and sodium that he needs and starts to stimulate his appetite. Definitely check with the vet before giving her bullion though (not sure if that would cause more problems if she has gall bladder issues) but the kitten milk SHOULD be ok. We also mix his antibiotics up in the bullion. Believe me, I've tasted the liquid antibiotics he takes and it is nasty!
