hi, I'm new to this altogether, the first time I looked at this site, I joined...I LOVE cats and wish I had more of them, but my parents think differently lol....I have 3 cats and some dogs and chickens....my cats are Chloe, Nala, and Otis...Chloe is grey all over but some of her face and feet are white and her tail has a darker grey color of stripes...Otis is one of her kittens that my parents let me keep, he is all black with a quarter size white spot on his chest like Chloe his mom....Nala is my inside cat...never sets a foot outside and probaby does'nt even know what sunlight is hahaha...she does look through the window farely often though, but would never survive outside, Chloe does'nt like her because she isn't a relative of hers I guess lol, and she goes strait for the road(curiousity killed the cat), so she is pure inside....she is a calico snowshoe and when Im more familiar with this site, she will more than likely be my avatar.....I also have a question....how is Nala a calico snowshoe? is that a mix breed of siamese or does it take two calico snowshoes to get one? And also, when a cat has kittens, can her kittens be a totaly different color from the mother and father?oh and Thanks for taking the time to read this!

It sounds like your parents already have quite a bit!   I think it's great you and your family are caring for that many animals!  The kitties sound very beautiful.  I'm sorry that I can't help with the Snowshoe question.  Maybe if you posted it in the Breeder forum someone would know the answer to your question.

Cat Breeds or Breeders? the Breeders is just people who breed cats is'nt it?

Hi there. Our Breeders Forum is about cat breeds and the people who breed them, who are usually very knowledgeable about 'their' breed. So you can ask any questions about specific breeds there. To answer part of your question 'calico' refers to the colour of a cat, a mix of three colours usually red, white and black arranged in splashes, Calico cats are almost always female. Snowshoes are basically white with coloured 'points', a bit like the Siamese breed. Here is a link to a site that shows you their colour options.

So I don't think there is such a thing as a 'calico snowshoe'. I am sure she is a very beautiful cat - is there any way you can post a picture of her?
