Question of the day - Saturday, January 14th

Good morningwavey.gif

I'm just getting over a cold.  It's been a real nuisance for the last few days.  I think it's getting getting better.  Hopefully by tomorrow it will be gone.

When was the last time you got a cold?  How often do you get sick?

I almost never get sick.  I have to be fit and healthy to do my job so I'm usually pretty careful.  I'm not sure when I was sick last but I know I wasn't sick in the last 6 months.

I had a tiny cold in December, but I don't get sick very often either. I usually get one cold and one case of strep throat every year, like clockwork. laughing02.gif But last year was a good year, no strep throat. Maybe my immune system has finally learned to kick it out before it can take root.

I had a devil of a cold, back right before Christmas. We all had it at work, my grandkids had it, my son had it. Rick had it right at the beginning of the year. And it's still making its rounds in the building I work in. Nasty stuff.

I usually end up with a bad spring cold....sometime around the end of March, beginning of April. It will last for about four weeks or so.....the cold itself is only about a week or so, but then I end up coughing for the next three weeks! I hate colds!

I don't get sick very often. Usually I get sick when I'm really stressed out. Like, when I was in college I was a big procrastinator, so the week when everything is due, and I have like hours to complete it because I've been putting it off, that was when I'd get a bad cold!!

Maybe it's also the fact that I was close to other sick people...

I don't know, but since I've left college I haven't gotten sick, and I graduated in May of last year.. fingers crossed that I don't get sick now that I said it..

I had a cold and strep during exam week in December. It was awful! I seem to get sick a lot, probably because I'm always stressed! I had mono and strep at the same time my freshman year of college, and last year I spent 7 months extremely sick from gallstones.

No colds so far.  I seldom get sick but when I do it's usually a doozy.  I had an odd strain of Influenza back in early December.  I was out for 2 weeks with it and actually got so dehydrated I had to go into the hospital overnight to be rehydrated and then they gave me a ZPack.  The Z worked like a charm.  I hate colds.  They are most inconvenient.

I rarely get sick, it's been several years since I had anything but allergies. Sometimes I wish my 'cold' symptoms were actually a cold, then I know they would go away and my sneezing would stop. .

laughing02.gif I currently have a cold right now. It seems to be sticking around and coming and going all this winter.

I'm w/  sk_pacer. It's been years sense I've gotten sick. Just allergies here too. (ahh, NC).  I usually try to take something like olive leaf  yr. round. It's great! Antibacterial, anti-microbial, helps keep b.p. down, It's great stuff.  I was a buyer in the wellness dpt. @ a Nat. food co-op for 6 & 1/2 yrs. Learned a lot & had access to great products!

Anytime I would even think I felt something coming, I would jump on it w/ everything I could(olive lf. emeren-c pkts, Chinese herbs etc..) & that either nipped it in the bud, or what everyone else @ work had for 3 wks, I only had a week!  Another good one is a Chinese herb called Gau mau Ling. It's for early stages of cold & flu( & safe to also give to kids.)  We used to sell a lot of that.( Also @ the acupuncturist I wkd for as well).

"Stay well everyone!"  smile.gif

I currently have a cold right now! It started on Thursday and is still sticking around. Everyone at work seems to have it/is getting it and it's just getting passed around. I'm hoping to get over it soon.

I'm just getting over one.  It has hung around for about a week and a half!!  I rarely get sick so it stinks big time.  Especially not being able to take a decongestant or anything.  I've consumed lots and lots of honey lemon tea this week!

Last bad cold I had was 2 years ago, right after we came home from a cruise.   This time my husband caught it from me (and he hardly ever catches a cold).     We were at my nephew's Christmas eve that year but had to go home before they even had dinner  We were both sick thru New Years.  The only good thing about my having a cold is that I lose my appetite and lose weight!

Its been a few months, but I wouldn't be surprised if I get one sometime soon .... the weather in SC changes so drastically day by day (it was in the 70s yesterday, low 50s today) it gets a bunch of people sick.

When I lived in NJ I rarely got sick at all.

Thank God, I do not get sick very often. I am a very bad patient laughing02.gif. I have not had a cold in a few months biggthumpup.gif.

about 3 weeks before Christmas I came down with an URI. Been coughing for nearly 2 months, even after being on antibiotics for a week it still took 2 months for the cough to go away. then I got a head cold that lasted about a week.

7 months ago I came down with something fierce. I had a virus that gave me 103-104 temp for a full week and a severe throat infection. The doctor thought I had Mono (again).. sent me to an ENT who gave me steriods and within hours I felt so much better.

I don't get sick. I don't remember the last time I was sick.

So far I haven't been sick this season. I always sneeze in the mornings. Allergies.

No flu either.

I rarely get truly sick. Evidently my body fights illness differently. The guys in my office all got some kind of stomach bug last month (all taking turns having a few days off), and I was sure I'd end up with it. But, nooo, I never get sick enough to stay home. I just feel sort of crummy for a few days, without it ever escalating to anything serious. I want to stay home and sleep!

Con;t get sick often, can't remember the last time.  When I feel a cold coming, I have a magic potion I take.  Mix half vinegar, half honey and take it often.  Generally it knocks out colds, sore throats, etc.

I believe in it.

I'm just getting over a nasty cold that turned into a sinus infection--since New Year's.

I usually get 1 cold per winter--1 or 2 awful days, then it quickly goes away without meds. (BTW, I drink a TBL of apple cider vinegar in 1, 8 oz. glass of water up to twice a day--it really cuts the congestion, and I usually feel peppier afterwards. White vinegar wokrs nearly as well, too.)

I rarely get anything but respiratory things.  I'm a Type II (pre-) diabetic, but am quite healthy and heal very fast despite that.

Good one. Yes apple cider vinegar is great for a lot of things! :)
