OOPS!   I mean the vet!

One of her eye's was oozing discharge Tues night I wiped clean a few times.  I stopped in yesterday morning and they were able to get her in last night.  She is on eye drops (really expensive wow!) 3x day and she gets re-checked Sat morning.  The vet stained her eye and couldn't ee any scratched through he said it was inflamed.  She hadn't been rubbing it at all.  Bender was crabby Tues morning and I was swiping at all the cats so I don't know if she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

She meowed the entire drive there and on the way back.  It funny though as I left the carrier in the kitchen and both her and Badger have been in and out of the carrier several time already.

Has she had eye troubles before?  The reason I ask is that this is often a symptom of feline herpes.  Very common, by the way, and usually pretty easily treated with L-Lysine.

Well her eye is still terrible looking. Not as much discharge I think its crusty due to the eye drops.  She seems in good spirits today and is tolerating me wipe her eye and put in the drops. What a trooper.  Vet check tomorrow morning though.

They re-stained her eye and he could not see any scratch but was still terribly inflamed.  and the tear duct was blocked.  They irrigated her eye and gave me steroid drops and a bag of lysine cat treats.

After I dropped her back home I did some errands and when I came home I noticed her eye seemed much better and she ate some of the treats.  She can have up to 12/day currently.  The tear duct must have opened up sometime during the night as there was discharge and the swelling looks better.  They will contact me monday to see how she is doing but I probably will stop on before work monday to let them know her progress.

Poor Inky :rub: I have been dealing with Perla's watery eye too. The vet gave her Tobrimycin eye drops and I do think that the drops irritate the eye lids. Because her eye lids were red and inflammed. It is such a worry when these things crop up on our babies. And now Inky has it in both eyes OH NO :eek:hno:.... The Lysine will help with a viral eye infection  Hope Inky recovers quickly :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

OH, poor baby.  Glad she likes the L-lysine treats anyway.  You can't blame her from running from you, though, when you go to treat her eyes.
that Nurse Gail can get back to just being Meowmy Gail soon!!
