Seems a bit quiet today - you all enjoying the holiday weekend?

Kev

Warning: Regional Health Authority
Regional Health Authority

There is a new virus out with the code name Work. If you receive
Work from your colleagues, your boss, via e-mail or anywhere else, do
not touch Work under any circumstances. This virus wipes out your
private life completely.

If you should come into contact with this virus, put on your coat and
take two good friends and go straight to the nearest BAR. Order three
beers and after repeating that 14 times, you will find that Work has
been completely deleted from your brain.

Forward this warning immediately to at least 5 friends. Should you
realize that you do not have 5 friends, this means that you are already
infected by this virus and Work already controls your whole life.
This virus is deadly. Please pay close attention to it and take heed.

Ok kev.... that was a GREAT one!

But what is the holiday we're supposed to be enjoying? Obviously I didn't enjoy it since I didn't even know there was one!

Its a public holiday today (monday) here in the UK - have spent most of it compiling all my notes for the next newsletter that I write quarterly.
Not thinking about work at all - drinking coffee all day and playing with lego with our son!

If its not a public holiday in the US - I demand you take one - every one of you - just so things are equal between us all. If your boss asks why you are leaving - I am not here and never was!

Our public holiday is next Monday (labor day), but I like your idea of leaving for the day. I am slightly infected by the work virus so will probably not get out of here until about 3PM today.

Didn't get on the catsite since Friday night:

Was busy throwing a "Mars" party this weekend - an excuse to invite the city folk out to the country to view the unpolluted night sky, with Mars as close as its been for thousands of years. The party started about 2PM on Saturday and the last guests left Sunday morning about 10AM. Good food and libations all around.

Went to a foster home to look at 2 potential adoptees yesterday afternoon (Dakota and Sage), 2 silver tabby litter mates. Have put in the application for their adoption. Went home and started making some flyers for the no-kill shelter for their adoption clinic. I'm going to start volunteering my time to this organization - they are all volunteer and welcome any help that they get.
