the vets refused my sick kitten!

i woke up this morning and saw my kitten on the floor hyperventilating and drooling excessively and had peed ed on herself and wouldn't move at all i panicked and first thing i did was take her to the emergency care. i go they say shes very weak and her tempter is low. they tell me i have to give a 1500 deposit right now or they wont be able to do anything for her Cu's shell require allot off test. I'm being honest here I'm not the richest person and sometimes i barley make ends meet but i always make sure my kitten has food in her tummy and a litter and a roof over her head and Ive been saving up to bring her to a vet so she can have her shot. I'm an 18 year old kid i don't make much and I'm on my own..i ask them if they were able to bill it to me they say no and i had to pay right there and then . then the lady comes out says id say best bet is to putt her down. they tell me i have to pay 200 dollars for that. it was 5 30 am i didn't bring anything on me other then my buss pass i say again can you bill it to me I'm getting paid 300 on Friday ill be able to pay it if i have to they say no put her in my cage and hand her to me and say sorry nothing we can do. i come home a hour later she calms down she was able to stand up and eat a little bit but shes very weak she isn't hyperventilating ans shes lost allot off weight i need to know how i can help her ?

I'm so sorry that your kitty is sick   Whereabouts are you located?.  Perhaps there is a member on our site that has knowledge of a vet that will allow you to do a different payment plan.  Is there anywhere else you can call?'

Awww, poor kitty. 

Try googling any animal shelter or charity care where you live to help you.

They do help, don't worry.  Just go search for them ASAP.

Definitely call around! I've never heard of an emergency vet requiring something like that... but it takes all kinds. Are you in the U.S.? I'm really surprised they didn't recommend calling CareCredit - which you should do!

And as Mum of two suggested, call around to all the local vets and clinics - see if you can find one that will let you make payments.

I'm in Montreal Canada so everything here is expensive. and Ive tried that as soon as i left the hospital i called the ASPCA they told me same thing come now and pay 150 up front and well put her down. shes a tiny bit better now and id like to try and save her instead off just giving up on her but everything is preventing me so its like they re saying oh let your cat suffer until i have money..

Ive been at it all day watching her and calling everywhere all say the same thing! its apparently some law or rule because allot off people don't pay up on off the receptionist told me ....

Google 'montreal rescue groups' and start reaching out to them now. Most of these groups are associated with vets and may be able to help you find one that will work with you. Send an email to every single rescue group, even canine groups. There are resources, just look beyond a vet.....rescue groups have a lot of resources at their disposal.

Try vets a little out of the city if you can too. My vet is in the country and shes dirt cheap and will bill in an emergency. I hope you find something soon. 

thanks for all the help and yes im trying everything ive been making calls all day some say the same and some say theyll see.. and everythings closed now im just worried for her now i wish there was something i could do for her she wont eat much that worries me she ate a little bit off wet food once today about 5 bites but thats it...

I can't believe that ASPCA turned you down and told you to pay at all! - I'm fuming with fury about this.

I am so sorry about your kitten!  In some places people just don't care!

I know that perhaps a silly suggestion, but did you try to ask any of your friends for money?

ive just moved her im practically alone i am alone here so i dont  have any friends here yet and i dont have family. well i do but heartless monsters.

one off the resuce groups receptionist answered me back and told me its anemai and i look at her and i believe it is her gums are pale im trying to keep her hdyrated with water with a dropper but shes not eating and unless i get help soon idk if shes going to make it...

It is good that you are trying to hydrate her.

For food - you need to gently try to force-feed some liquid foods to her like baby food (meat-based, NOT vegetable or fruit based).

If you can afford to buy some raw chicken - boil it on slow heat without salt or any additions with bones to make a thick broth and then cool it and try to give her some by dropper?

I wish someone on here can give you good advice on how to help her more.

lady did not make it. i was able to find some help from gerdys rescues group who so kindly picked me up from my house and took me all the way to the vet and covered her expenses . the vet a very kind lady said there was not much hope for her she had severe anemia and has much to thin and had a odd ball of mass in her stomach that her chances off servile was slim to none and if i take her home shed die on me. i took the dision to end her suffering and the kind people are cremating her for me and will send her too me soon. Ive never cried so much in my life i feel as if i failed in a way but i tried so hard to save her even though it wasn't enough..
