I haven't started one of these in a while. :)

My husband had accumulated a lot of vacation time and had taken almost 3 weeks off at the end of the year. Over those tree weeks, I didn't really cook, clean, do much laundry or much of anything other the usual holiday celebration, and deal the usual emergencies that pop up.

He went back to work on Tuesday, but I had an appointment on Tuesday that took up most of my time. My mother's cat had tests yesterday that took up a lot of the day and my husband had a doctor's appt.

Today was the day that I was finally going to be "back to normal" and able to start getting things done around here, maybe even get some of the Christmas decorations down. Well I think my husband is having a few mild side effects from the flu shot he had yesterday (aches, pains) and is working from home. I'll still be able to get a few things done. but will have to be quieter and won't be able to get as much done as I wanted to.

Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be back to normal. :dk: :lol3:

Have a good day everyone! :wavey:

I started the year off right with a case of cellulitis in my left leg. Got a shot in the posterior and a 10 day course of antibiotics, but right now I wish I had something with a proof number so I could get a good sleep.

Morning.... Karen, it does feel good to have the Holiday's over and trying to get back to a sense of normalcy :lol3: AND when my DH is working from home too, it is hard to get thing's done  Here's hoping tomorrow you will get back to normal :D...

Jan... :hugs: OH that is just painful, I am sure. Hope you feel better very soon and get some much needed sleep .....

Today I am quite excited!! I really should be staying home and getter thing's done around the house... but I am meeting some "old" horse friend's for lunch. We are having a "Glad the Holiday's are over". We are meeting at the horse barn and going from there. Will be really great to catch up with them. OH speaking of horses, say the movie "War Horse"..... very, very good movie. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie and shed a few tears too. It really was a great story.

Have a great day :hugs::hugs: :sun: :sun: :sun:

Today I just did work work and more work! My job is SO busy in January so it was a long day of work. Then I came home and played some Xbox Kinnect Dance and Sports. Fun way to end a day!

Good morning and Happy Friday! (I wasn't on the board much yesterday, so am doing my thread today.)

It's nice to have all the decorations put away and with the house being back to normal. Our house is small, so a tree and decorations really take up space. I agree about not getting as much done when husbands are home. It just doesn't work that way. (And there are times when I want a day to myself at home with nobody else around. I haven't had one of those days in a long time, it seems. Rick was off work the entire week between Christmas and New Year and then he was off this past Monday, too, so I was more than ready for him to go back to work. I may have to take a mental health day soon, just to enjoy some time alone.)

But Rick has the flu....he's had a bad sore throat since last Friday and is all achy and can't seem to shake it. I asked him to make a doctor appt b/c I'm a little worried about strep throat, but he says that if he's not any better by Feb he'll consider it. Feb???
 Men! Sometimes you just wanna...........

I brought Clarence into work this morning instead of Hannah because I have some site inspections that I have to do....take pictures and measurements and make sure that everything's going according to the plans. That will be fun, since we're warming up to the mid 30s today. And I like getting out of the office from time to time.

Have a great Friday!

On no, Jan! I hope you feel better soon!

Rick will go to the doctor in February? :lol3: I hope he feels better as well.

I am alone today! :) I did make a small dent on the Christmas decorations, but hope to make a bigger one today. It's supposed to warm up a little so I may take down the outside decorations.

Not too many reply to these threads, like they used to. What do you think of a weekly thread? Sort of like our own little coffee chat here? :lol3:

Get well :vibes: for Jan, Rick and Aaron! Today was the last day of Christmas vacation, so I spent it cleaning. I can't get a lot of that done when DH is home - he gets in the way, can't understand why I have to steam the floors, do so much laundry, etc., etc.. . The Christmas decorations came down earlier in the week - the limit around here is 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. More than that and they annoy me.

I've got a couple of good books I'm going to curl up with this weekend; once school starts back up I won't get to them for a while.
