My younger cat, who is almost two is acting out out of the norm. He often times hides under the bed and plays with himself and is very independent. Extremly playful. Very high strong. It isn't uncommon for him to be gone a couple days that you don't see him much from him hiding. He is the sneaky type, therefore we didn't think much when we didn't see himmuch for a couple of days. Now we have realized he hasn't ate, drank or used the bathroom in days. We caught him resting his head and paws inside of the water dish. Moves him away and later caught him laying in the litter. Usually he doesn't like to be held and is very stubborn. I went in this evening and found him under the bed not moving. I gently picked him up and put him on bed and he didnt fight me at all. I noticed he hasn't cleaned himself so I gently cleaned him with warm damp rag as best as I could. I pet him on the head mainly and he just blinks.cue doesn't squirm or anything line he usually does. He just looks weak. I tried to gently drop a couple drops of water to hydrate him amd he liked only one drop. I read about mixing tuna juice half with water so I did a little mixture. I placed near amd at first he sniffed like he was intrested so i got a drop on my fibger and moved it towarda him but then he backed away. The stuff i read online said thats a sign of nasiua. It doesn't seem as if he is in any exterior physical pain. I felt near his ears for heat as a suggestion online said, but there wasn't warmth, indicating prob not a feaver. Our vet opens at 8 so i was going to call in the morning. We dont have money as it is to take him and are in a financial bind since u have an injures foot and am unable to work. Barly goin on my husbands salary. Idk if that calls for emergency service or if there is anything I can do to help him till morning. Idk what to do. I do have one more cat whom is 13 and ia health as can be. Doesn't have any problems and runs around like a kitten. Both are inside cats. There is a Jack russle dog in the house thatgoes in and out whom is really good freinds with my sick cat. Also this morning I had seen him walking weird crossing his two back legs and walking funny. Only way I can describe it as a cross between a zombie and a drunk person.

This cat sounds very, very sick. If he was mine, I would take him to the vet right away. Sorry, that is the only advice I can give. I hope he will be ok.

Yeah, take him right away.  I don't know if they make billing arrangements if the cost is too high. If he has a fever that's too high, it can really hurt him. When my one cat was young he was very very sick I took him to a vet and told him to bill me for seeing him.  He gave the cat an antibiotic shot and he recovered from the brink.  He's still here today.  14 years old.  Please let us know how kitty does!!!

I am sorry.... but this kitty needs emergency care... now. Please call your vet and on the answer machine there will be the phone # for the nearest emergency clinic - take him.... ask if you can give a check for payday.... whatever..... but this kitty needs a vet.... If it was my cat, I would not wait until tomorrow. You can also apply for carecredit and use it immediately if approved.... http://www.carecredit.com/vetmed/

Like the others, I encourage you to take this cat to a vet immediately.

I'd get your dog in, too. Since both animals are indoor / outdoor, and both are clearly ill, it's possible they've been poisoned - and time is of the essence.

God bless you and your furbabies.

Agree.

As your funds are thin, try to take a loan, now or later.  Or a payment plan with the vet. But they both must in ASAP whatever you do.

I saw somewheree in the Forums a tip about a online place where you could get "checks" for discount, both for vets and human medics...   Lets see if I find it again.

Good luck!  *vibes*

PS.  What you CAN do for now, waiting for the vet to open, is to forcefeed your sick cat water.

You know how to do it??

Preferably a pedialyte. A basic and quite good home made pedialyte  water, some dextrose.-sugar, a little salt.

A litre water, a soup spoon of dextrose ("grape sugar"), if you dont have it honey is OK, white Caro syrup prob also OK.  If desperate common sugar may do.

a tea spoon of kitchen salt.

Cook up, stir if necessary.

Let it cool down to about 39 grades celsius (ie the body temp)

Give in the corner of the mouth, NOT into the neck.

Dont spare too long, better to make a new.

This is no hokus pokus, in poor countries they use exactly this basic pedialyte for humans also.  Saved many thoushands of people from dying in cholera.
