After Daymon interrupted my probably overly worrisome introduction phase by escaping out the bedroom door last night, the kids have been cautiously getting used to each other. Holland will hiss if Daymon gets too close, but Daymon doesn't seem overly bothered by her bossiness.

For the last half hour or so, Daymon has been sleeping on a kitchen chair, and Holland was sacked out in my lap. Daymon's still napping and Holland is eating dinner, so feelings can't be too hurt, right? I guess I was imagining a big flurry of fur and claws, but they are doing really well with each other.

This might have some repercussions though...

Holland's reaction - "I don't see you":

Oh my god, I have two cats!!!

Awww!  He is so handsome and Holland is being such a good girl to her new brother.

My cats are so used to having other cats around that they barely hiss when a new one comes in anymore.  Meowgie get one or two hisses, but they all accepted him like he was just here from the start.  Hissing is totally normal and expected.  No flurry of fur and claws has ever happened here...and I am glad it didn't happen at your house either.  :)

Daymon was fed up with that room and was willing to take his chances with Holland, huh? [emoji]128516[/emoji]

Oh, he was SO ready to be out of that room.
He'd been trying to get past me for days, I just let my guard down a little too much last night.

We're sleeping peacefully right now, Holland at the top of the condo and Daymon again in Holland's bed. I have to believe she isn't too thrilled that his new favorite place seems to be HER favorite place. He is funny though... whenever she hisses at him he either ignores it or just looks at her like "What?".
He doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in his skinny little body. And Holland is all hiss and no action, so we should be fine. I just hope Holland realizes that he is a good brother and they get to be friends.

OK, now I'm just bored and showing off my babies. It's nap time at my house:

Aww they seem to be doing great together. I'm sure it wont be long before they are best friends. The fact that Daymon is so laid back will help.

Daymon is making himself right at home, isn't he? Holland seems to be OK with her new brother, too. They are both beautiful cats! Have you thought about getting Daymon a bed like Holland's? Even if they both use it, it might give Holland some piece of mind that he's not using "her" bed. Although they'll both probably end up using them anyway.

Daymon definitely seems to be feeling at home. I'm pretty much letting them mingle as long as I am here. I didn't even put Daymon "away" when I took a shower this morning, and I didn't hear any hissing, fighting, or anything else while I was in the shower. He will still go into the bedroom when he wants to be alone. He's a troublemaker - he can open drawers, cabinets, and my closet door. He's found a perfect hidey hole for himself in my closet.

Holland was in the bedroom earlier, and I'm not sure she even realized he was in the closet...

I think it's not so much the bed as it is the blanket.
Daymon does have a similar bed, but I haven't gotten him a nice plush fleece blanket yet. When I was doing a scent exchange with them I used that blanket of Holland's, and he looooooved it.

It's great that they're getting along so well this early in the game! You must be so relieved! (It was over three years ago now, but I remember being very anxious when I brought a third cat into my house.) I hope they become good friends soon.
