Update today is not much of an update. She says she feels like she was run over by a truck but otherwise good. Just a waiting game right now. They are still at the university hospital while she is recoverying from the surgery. I'm thinking still a day or two before she gets to come home. Real waiting game is to see if the cancer has gone into the other lymph nodes that were removed & see if it's spread further. frown.gif

Thanks all for the vibes!!!! biggrin.gif

Many vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.giffor your step-mom and dad, and many hugs.gif for you. Considering she was just cut open and had parts of her anatomy removed, I can understand her feeling like she was run over by a truck. I know DH had many more "colorful" ways to describe how he felt after his hernia surgery and it wasn't near as invasive as this must have been. But, it sounds like the surgery went well with no major complications so that is a good thing. Now, to get those results back and see if it did the trick vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gif

Thanks for the continued vibes. They are home now... woohoo.gif My father said she still felt like heck and that she was very sore, tired and ornery and fell asleep in her recliner. My thoughts on that ared be I would be too! So, atleast they are home now and she can try to be more comfortable and relaxed. clap.gif

This is a responce from my step-mom:

"Thank you to all who have said prayers, sent good wishes, flowers, cards, gifts, food, even a beautiful quilt. You have no idea how loved and protected you've made me feel; and to the people I've never even met, you are all so wonderful and compassionate; may God bless you all. Each day I feel a little stronger, I'm sure by next week I'll feel more like my old self again. When this heals up then I'll be starting 8 weeks of radiation...and then hopefully that will be it.

Thank you again to all of you wonderful people~"

Thank you all so much for all your vibes!

hugs.gif I always said ornery is a good thing (just don't tell my husband that, he's ornery enough as it is). You just tell your step-mom and your dad that they are still in our prayers. I'm so glad she's home and recovering. I'm so sorry she has to go through radiation, hopefully it won't be too bad for her.

How's your dad doing?

He's already done his first hormone injection, goes for his next in April. When he had it last time he did the seed injections which has gotten him this far, but is also what had caused the blood clots issue over the last month. He says he is fine, not to worry about him, worry about her. But he's my daddy, so I'll always worry about him more.

You guys have sent so many vibes already but if you have any additional to spare again, that would be great. My step-mom went back in again today and had 4 more Merel cell tumors removed. frown.gif This is not good news. She still has not been able to start the radiation on the original site, so I am not certain where she stands at the moment with the new spots. Thanks all!vibes.gif

Well it's been a couple days since the new tumors have been removed. She has a black eye but says she feels good. She could tell these one's were there this time. I'm hoping this is the end of them so she can start the radiation. Thank you again all for the vibes! LOVE YOU GUYS!! heartpump.gif
