Coming north on I-35 this morning, I saw a truck on the side of the road with a police car behind it. Regular speeding ticket, I assumed. About 1/2 mile north, I came across another police car sitting in the right lane, its lights going...and a downed longhorn down in the road. Gorgeous animal, horn spread of about 6 feet. Apparently hit by the truck.
Someone's valuable animal got out of its pasteur and got an early trip to the bridge. Many of these animals are actually pets, used in shows, etc., and used to being around people and cars.
