Question of the Day, Friday, Dec 23

Thread Starter

Good morning! (And happy last Friday before Christmas!)

We were talking last night about getting the gifts wrapped for Christmas....haven't started yet. I hate to wrap gifts, so Rick usually does them. He is a perfect wrapper and everything always looks so pretty when he's finished. No bows or ribbons, though, not with seven cats in the house. They would pull the ribbons off and try to eat them.

Today's question is actually two: Do you use bows and ribbons on your presents? How do your cats treat the gifts under the tree?

Sometimes I use bows, not good with ribbons. Hecck, if you saw the way I wrapped presents, you'd think a six year old did it!LOL

LOL, I throw things in gift bags and hope for the best. That's as elaborate as I get! We don't have presents under our tree. We're bringing everything over to Mom's and doing the gift exchange there.

I wrap, ribbon and bow, sometimes I make my own bows too. This year's theme is red and silver but I am cheating and not making my own bows - it gets kinda tough when all cats decide to come and help. From the wrapping table, the gifts will go into a triple garbage bag so they cannot be opened by curious paws and have the shiny bits removed by Da Magpie. .

I put just about everything in gift bags. Two years ago I got DH a sweater, had it giftwrapped, brought it home and put it under the tree. The ribbon was off the package in under five minutes. This year I've got two gifts in bags under the tree so far, and a certain little someone keeps dragging the presents out of the bags.

I put bows on peoples main gifts, but not on small things. I leave everything in a room with a closed door until Christmas morning so no animals get at them.

I used to always do bows and ribbons, but I didn't think year because I knew Riley would tear it all off. The BFs mom brought some presents over with ribbon on it, and Riley LOVED playing with it .. it was all over the house not long after

Noodles is a ribbon/string eater and I wouldn't put it past Mooch either; so no ribbons or bows here.  Otherwise they leave the presents alone.

I always put bows on presents. rbheart.gifLynxxrbheart.gif was very good about presents. He seemed to know which ones were his and only opened them. Luna & Midnight go crazy over presents, so all presents are kept hidden in bags laughing02.gif

No, I don't always put ribbon & bows on the presents. Well usually a bow but not ribbon. My kitties don't mess with the presents as we don't put them under the tree any more as they like to get into them. I usually put all the wrapped presents in my closet so they are safely away from the kitties and dogs. agree.gif

I use the curly ribbon (the kind you can curl with a scissor) for someone else. DH and I usually just hand each other bags and say "merry Christmas".  The few times things actually got wrapped we put them under the tree, took a pic, and dug in. Any presents for anyone else stay in the spare room where the cats can't get to them.

That's what gift bags are for! LOL

I hate wrapping gifts, though I do it for DH's family. I have to box up those gifts to keep the 9 little monsters away from them.

For just us 2, I usually just devote 2 large gift bags, 1 for each of us, and lock those up, too.   This year, since we each mostly got small appliances, I didn't bother. And we never put gifts under the tree, because of the cats.

I do use some bows, Kitters doesn't really mess with the gifts but she likes to steal the plastic bulbs on the bottom of the tree and take the stand of tinsel off it as well!
