So Sad - No White Christmas again

For the third year in a row, no White Christmas.  It just doesn't seem like Christmas without beautiful snow.

Rarely get a white Christmas. Major storms before or after Christmas. We had a huge snow storm the week before Halloween, nothing on the ground now rolleyes.gif

The last two years we had Christmas Eve blizzards! No snow this year, while it is saddening I won't miss the blizzard. laughing02.gif

Don't think too hard as I live near Green Bay and we may get a dusting tonite/tomorrow but will most likely melt as the temps are to be in the mid 30's.  Do you have family up in D.C.? We went up for a few days in Sept and ate at some places we hadn't before.  Might go their next week. Sturgeon Bay is about an hour from my house.

I have never, ever had a white Christmas. I would sure like to experience one in my lifetime. But it hardly ever snows here. Last time was Jan 1999.

It's been in the high 60s here lately and it almost never snows, so I doubt we'll have one either :P

We've had snow for the past two days, but it seems like it will all be melting away today. Last year we had a White Christmas, and the roads were so treacherous that I'm happy to do without snow this year.

I like the thought of a white Christmas, the feeling and look when you wake up to a white world. It's so peaceful and lovely.

UNTIL you have to get in the car and drive to a relatives house, an hour away in good road conditions. The dummy drivers sliding all over the parkways, and those who shouldn't drive, ever, are all out driving in the snow. Then that night, Christmas night, when you get home, and have all your gifts, you slide on you behind down the walk because it's icy and nobody was around to shovel...then the snow that was so pretty and white and sparkly...is brown with dirt, and you still have to shovel it.

Ok, I'm sorry for being a bummer. But that's Christmas in NY to me.

You never know! There is still time!

This is the only time of year where I actually wouldn't mind some snow! Otherwise it can stay away. wink.gif

No snow here and that's fine with me. Yes, it would be nice for one day. But then at midnight on Christmas night? Poof! All snow is gone!

It's a traveling thing more than anything. Our kids are coming and I hate for them to have to drive in snowy weather. Rick has to go up and get my mom and bring her to our house for dinner. Than he has to get his parents as they don't drive that much anymore either. And it will be dark til we get everybody back home again. So no snow or bad weather for driving.

We've had a white Christmas for the past couple of years now, but this year it's quite mild. I'm not complaining though because we had it really bad last year, and at one point l thought l wouldn't get to see the family and have Christmas day  at friends up the street

I wouldn't care if I ever saw that stuff again!  It gets real old here in the northeast.....last year we got snow in the beginning of November and never saw the ground for 6 months.  The wildlife find it hard to find food.

There is nothing good, imo, about snow.

I am glad we have no snow htis year. Last year I was stuck in the house for two weeks during the winter. My brother and his family just made it here for Christmas, but it was touch and go whether they got out again! But this year I have primroses in bloom alongside the autumn cyclamen and hte Christmas hyacinth. Weird.

We are getting a fair dusting of snow tomorrow...so HOPEFULLY it sticks around until Sunday. Go figure, they are calling for more on Monday.

We're going to have a white Christmas.  But it also means that packages will be late and major delays at Denver International Airport as it is supposed to keep snowing all day.

No white Christmas here and I am not in the LEAST upset.  Last year at this time, I had huge heaps of the whitecrap shoved up around the perimeter of the yard, and way out in the fields - getting out even for the most mudane thing like grocery shopping was a monutmental task and I had to stockpile food for me and the cats. From mid November to Christmas I had managed 2 shopping trips for groceries, and by the end of April, had racked up 5 more trips. I am actually looking forward to Christmas with temps above freezing - I am certain we may well sit outside and drink coffee after dinner :)

No snow here, either, but that's pretty normal. I've only had one white Christmas - when we lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I was pregnant with our daughter at the time so it was a memorable holiday all around!

Woke up to lots of the white stuff! Not sure if it'll last, but it certainly looks pretty. I love it for now, but after Christmas it can go away again. wink.gif

Its snowing here! Suppose to be cold the next few days too, so it should stick around. First white Christmas in a few years. I am soooo excited. I am going to take shots of the lights in the neighborhood tonight.

Heck, it's supposed to be 52 here on Christmas day. I'm fine with that! I HATE snow. It would be nice to have a dusting of snow that melts on the 26th, but I don't see that happening. I will say, Christmas is the only day I really want snow. Other than that it can stay to the north (sorry Canadian friends). We got a huge dump on Halloween and it was just not right seeing trees with red and gold leaves covered in snow.

The store that I work at is open until midnight from the 22nd to the 24th, it's understandable for the 22nd and 23rd because it is quite busy, but on the 24th we're busy until 8pm, there are still a fair amount of customers from 8-10pm but from 10pm until midnight - it's dead, there are only a few customers that come in. Two or three years ago now, I was working until midnight on Christmas Eve even though my boss knew I had to drive to my parents house right after work. My parents decided to come pick me up in their SUV, which handled the weather a lot better than my little car. It had snowed all day, but the roads were pretty clear by midnight. We got on the 401 (major highway) and right around Ingersoll hit black ice and spun out. Thank God there were no other cars around us on the highway - we went from the lane closest to the ditch right over to the median, hit it with the back bumper and slid right back into the middle lane, where we stopped. My dad made sure that we were alright and, thankfully, the SUV was in working condition. He pulled it over onto the side of the highway and checked for damage, the back drivers side bumper had a lot of damage and the light was broken, if I had been sitting on that side in the back I would have been hurt (whiplash, back pain, etc) we were told. We weren't even going the speed limit, the rest of the trip home (about 15 minutes) was very slow and tension filled. Like I said, thankfully, we were all alright, but since then I have absolutely refused to work Christmas Eve at night. They argued with me about it at first, but I told them that I would leave "sick" or call in "sick" if I would have to make that drive to my parents at night again. That, my friends, is why I don't care if we have a White Christmas.

Oh, and those stupid snow dumps that we get in the winter can stop happening too, lol. Seriously, who needs 4-5 feet of snow overnight?!

Living in NE Ohio as well, I think we will get hammered with snow come January.  Its been to warm for Lake Erie to freeze.  I work in the secondary snowbelt and I am so not looking forward to the next couple months.

I grew up in Denver.  In the 14 years I lived there, we had only 1 white Christmas.  It just doesn't happen very often.

South Texas had a white Christmas a couple of years ago.  They called it the "Christmas Miracle."

Two years ago, OKC, where we are going later today, had a big blizzard at Christmas time.  They may have snow tonight, but probably not.

This will be my first year WITHOUT snow for Christmas! Odd to me. One year we didn't have any until Christmas Eve, but none this year at all I think!
