Rachel was a gorgeous black smoke and white American Curl from one of the oldest Curl lines. A beloved pet, she had been battling Chronic Renal Failure. Recently she had a real, sudden turn for the worse and then a semi-miraculous bit of recovery, it turned worse again, really worse, abruptly. This morning, it was clear it was time..to wait any longer meant her going into seizures from end-stage, and I didn't see a reason to have her go through that.
Almost 17, she didn't look her age until very recently...a tiny force to be reckoned with, Dee was often seen with her snuggled up next to his tummy, his front legs resting over her..he was her personal "electric blanket"!
I hate the losses, I hate that we ever have to say these goodbyes. I hope I see her again, when it's my time.
You were such a good, loving girl Rachel, we will miss you very much.
