Hi everyone! I wanted to share some rescue news.
My elderly neighbor Bob ( I posted about him about a year ago ) was feeding four cats. Three male littermates born at his place during August of last year and a female who just showed up this past Sept. I had gotten the three boys neutered last year because he was not inclined to do so. (TNR jobs cost only $25 here) I noticed the new cat in September. I figured I would have to do this one too but had not yet gotten around to it.
I returned home from a nine day vacation on Sunday. I noticed things were not in order at Bob's house. Tuesday morning I saw Bob's son at the house and went to see what was up. Bob had fallen ill and was in the hospital with a dire prognosis. He will not be coming home. The son had simply closed the garage door ( where the cats slept and sheltered ) and quit feeding them. I asked him about the cats and he said he didn't know where the three males were but that the newest kitten would NOT LEAVE. I walked out the front door and there she was. She wanted to be petted. I complied. She followed me as I walked around his property looking for any sign of the others. I started walking home and told her to c'mon. She complied.
Wednesday morning I dropped her off at the rescue shelter for tests, spay and shots. I picked her up this this morning. I sent a picture message to my friend Marylin who had just lost her awesome little rescued girl to leukemia in October. She came over tonight and met the most affectionate 5.4 lb kitten in the world. She's coming back to take her home tomorrow or Saturday.
I left food for the others and it was eaten. I intend to try and get them to come live outdoors at my place.
PS: my cat Sasha knows something is going on and he is not amused. Marlow, he couldn't care less.

that is just terribly cruel
To just stop feeding cat's who have come to rely on human's for food. Just heartless..... Thank goodness they have YOU
I will say some prayers for the other cat's that they will come back looking for food so you can move them to your place. You have a big heart and are a true cat savior
Thank you for that

for Aja - I know how you feel - hard to let them go sometimes, really hard. BUT it is much easier to let them go when you know they have found such a wonderful, loving forever home
.

is doing so well and is loved so greatly.
