My boy Simon...

My boy Simon is about 12 years old.  Since right before Thanksgiving he started eating less and throwing up bile.  I have taken him to the vet a few times and she can't figure out what is wrong with him.  We have tried a bunch of different medications, this last med being a steroid...hoping that would make him more comfortable.  But nothing has worked.  Today he has pretty much stopped eating.  His is drinking a little bit but not much.  I know that he is dying...and I have made an 'appointment' to put him down on Saturday.  

Thank you for your kind words.  I know that it is the right thing to do but it still hurts.  :'(  Simon showed up on my doorstep 12 years ago about 1 week after my 18 year old cat Snoopy was put to sleep...Simon looks exactly like Snoopy!  Now their personalities were quite different but boy did they look alike!  

I am spending as much time with my boy Simon as I can, even sleeping in the living room with him because he has made a spot for himself under the Christmas tree.

Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life.  At 11am on Saturday December 17, 2011 I had to say good bye to my boy...Simon.  I know that it was the right decision but it was still the hardest thing I've ever had to do.  

It is surreal to look around my house and not see Simon.  We had fish for dinner tonight and I could almost picture him sitting on one of the kitchen chairs and then poking his head up sniffing out the salmon. 

The other two cats, Bandit and Kye, seem to wonder where Simon is.  Kye, especially, misses his buddy.  They were the best of friends...always getting in to trouble together!  He seems a little lost with out Simon here.    I hope that he gets use to being the 'man' of the house.  

My dog, Kitz, misses Simon too. Simon sometimes thought that he was a dog!  lol... He would often play with Kitz like he was just 'one of the dogs'.  It was so fun to watch them together.  Simon was the only cat out of the three of them that gave Kitz the time of day.  I would often find the two of them curled up together after they were done playing.  

I miss Simon every second of the day...

I love you Simon...until I see you again one day!!
