Question of the Day: Thursday Dec. 15, 2011

Good morning everyone.

I am pretty sure most of my questions are repeats, but................... we always have new members.

Please let me know if you mind the repetitions :)

Todays question is compliments of my boys who have been driving me nuts as of late.

Part 1: Do your cat(s) like treats?

Part 2: If you were to leave a bag of treats on your counter/table/etc. (anywhere except behind a locked cupboard) overnight what would happen?????

My cats all LOVE treats! I have them in a large coffee can because if I were to just leave them in the bags, they WOULD find and destroy them. lol2.gif

My boys love treats...... they eat Temptations by the bag full.

Normally they are pretty good with not getting into things but.......................

Tues morning I woke to a chewed bag of chicken treats (that were mainly for the pup, but can also be used for the cats as it is simply chicken pieces, dried)..... so I put the leftover pieces into a ziploc and put it on the counter.

Wed. morning: My daughter finds a chewed ziploc baggie on the floor, she didn't know what it was from and put it in the garbage. Wed night I went to give them treats and find out that they are gone.

Thurs morning: a bag of dried chicken fillets (dog treats only) are on the floor with teeth marks...

yet, the bag of Temptations is still where I forgot it/forgot to put it away.

Lesson learned: all treats are being put in the cupboard LOL

My girls only like the moist treats. They prefer the seafood flavors too.  Same for canned food.  I do have to keep them in a cabinet or they'd chew the bag.  They will rip into the new bag of cat food if I leave that out too.

I have one special cupboard that holds all the treats and it is child proof locked because the monsters can open doors. Needles to say the treats are under lock and key along with people food because one kitty will demolish plastic bags like bread bags.

They love all treats but temptations is the favorite followed by the friskies healthy ones. I forget the name but they are all healthy and stuff.

Bowser is the pickiest eater! He only likes one type of treats, and doesn't like wet food that much. On the other hand, he is obsessed with grease and cheese. Whenever I eat anything with butter or cheese on it, he goes crazy.

Trout is not a big treat cat, I doubt she would do anything if I left it out.

My cats LOVE treats.. especially Greenies!

I've left bags/cans of treats out, and they are always ignored by the cats.

Now, if I left a loaf of bread out, Monet would chew through it and eat the bread!

My boy love treats!! As soon as he hears the bag he goes crazy.

I leave a bag in the living room on a bookshelf and a bag in the spare bedroom on the dresser, and he's never gotten into them. But it I were to leave the bag opened, he would eat them all up I imagine

My cats LOVE treats. They ask for them. Especially Hoshi.

If I left the bag out, it'd be empty in the morning. Hoshi actually will reach in and get treats out for himself. laughing02.gif

They love treats.  Daisy would rip into a bag of unattended treats without hesitation or remorse.  I am confident that my others would do the right thing.  laughing02.gif

That's our Bootser! We've learned never to have bread out on the counter.....she'll be in that bag so quick it makes your head spin! She also loves butter. I had butter in the microwave to soften. Rick decided to make oatmeal, so he put the butter on the counter and then forgot to put it back in the microwave. Bootser ate one whole stick of butter and had started in on the second stick, when she must have even realized that enough was enough. I came home from work and Rick was outside. And there was one butter wrapper on the saucer with most of another stick. I knew it was Bootser. Called the vet. Vet said to keep an eye on her and hope she vomits. She did. A few times. Not pretty. Honest.

Anyway, I digress. Sorry. Yes, our cats love treats. Any kind of treats. The Old Ladies, Whisper and Bootser, don't get them very often anymore because they'll just puke them back up. They get one....and only one. Broken into pieces (it's hard to break treats up because they're so small to begin with). But they love their treats.

In fact, that's how I count heads when I need to. Sometimes Amber has a sneaky way of disappearing on me.....to this day, I have no idea where her favorite hidey-hole is. When I need to find her, I just yell "Treat!". and all the cats come running. As they come into the kitchen, I count to make sure they're all there.
