Hey all! I'm new to the forum. I'm Lana.

My husband and I rescued a kitten through craigslist last night and we named her Ella and she's doing just fine. the problem is, i noticed that her urine has mucus in it. I read online that it could just be normal with the mucus then i also read online that it could be something serious. We are going to take her to a vet soon, i was just wondering if we should wait it out a week or two to see if any serious symptoms come up? and if there are any over the counter stuff that can help?.her behavior is completely normal, she's just being a kitten.

Thank You!

Hi Lana,

Congratulations on your new furry family member Ella.

I am always of the opinion that  if we have a concern about our  kitty's health, our safest  option is to see a vet asap.

I hope that she is not ill, but early treatment is best if there is a problem.

The suggestion about posting a thread in our heath forum is a

good idea too. I will be watching for your update about Ella.

Please make yourself at home

I understand your question here.  It does happens vets and doctors prefer to have the disease fully sprung up, so they see and know what it is.  So they dont need to guess.

So it happens they send you back if you do come too early.

But why shall we guess?

Let the vet decide.

Do phone this vet you are going to. Tell him/her you ARE his client to come, etc etc...

Besides, a vet check up is always good to make the first you do when having a new cat.

It may be sometimes good even if the cat had a vet check up immediately before leaving the previous owner.

So, do phone at least, but prepare to go with your new friend as soon as  possible.

Welcome to the TCS site and our Forums!

Good luck!    *vibes*
