I think one of my cat's claws is overgrown...

I'm pet sitting a cat. Today when I was playing with her paws I saw this claw beside her dew claw. It's big, curled and I think the tip of it is going into the pad. She isn't limping and there isn't any blood or swelling. She is licking her paw more often. Can I just cut the claw or do I have to take her to the vet?

You should be able to just clip the tip of it. You have to be careful not to cut into the quick (blood vessels), and it's usually easiest when the cat is sleeping or drowsy.
