Talk about OOPS!   But no one was hurt.

I would settle for repairs to the home and a 45 second full body hug from Kari Byron. Mmmm...

And bragging rights! I can just see it. . ."a Mythbusters cannonball put a hole in my wall!". Maybe put up a plaque in the yard laughing02.gif. I hope they don't cut too much out of the show when they air that segment.

Funny thing is, they WERE at the bomb range, like good, safe, responsible Mythbusters. How far did that cannonball go?!?!?

0.625, or five eighths, of a mile.  3300 feet.

And the cannonball episode won't be aired.  http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/east_bay&id=8458423

Aww frown.gif.

I would think that a bomb/firing range ought to be more than half a mile from houses. But I guess in a city, free space is harder to come by. But still.

That really stinks but at least no one was hurt. I know the people who's house and property was damaged probably think that that's the most crap response "at least no one was hurt" but its true.  I love the mythbusters so I can't be too mad at them and its not like they were doing anything wrong. They were at a firing range that was suppose to be secure from this type of think happening, one they've used numerous times before without incident.

If my house/property was damaged, I think if they'd pay for the damages, pay to have one of the wall segments with a hole totally removed, give me the cannonball itself and have them turned into a monument of having a mythbuster's cannon ball going through my wall, have all the cast sign it and then let my dad be in meaningful role in an episode then I'd be perfectly happy. My dad absolutely loves the show and my family honestly thinks that kind of job would be a dream for my dad to at least be able to sample.

So not only did it go through a house, it damaged a roof and even took out a minivan as it bounced through the neighborhood... oops!   Still don't see why they can't air the episode though.

It's so lucky nobody was injured. The people they interviewed seemed to take it with humor.

I would air the episode, saying, "See, this is why we say to never, ever try this stuff at home!  We took all the precautions we could, and something still went wrong!"
