Poor baby!  I hope she feels better soon.  vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gif

Daisy had a really rough time after we had her spayed.  She was probably about a year old and we'd just adopted her from the animal shelter.  She wouldn't let us anywhere near her to give the pain med the vet prescribed.

I'm sure Maia is very comforted to have you with her.  hugs.gif

I have Amoxicillin to give twice a day, no pain meds. I am definitely calling tomorrow morning if she is the same, she doesn't want to move and can't get comfortable. Sometimes she wants to get up, but can't because of pain......frown.gif  My poor baby! I feel so bad for doing this to her

Oh poor Maia! vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifLike Feralvr said, she will be alright. It's just so much harder on females than is on males. It sucks! I agree, call the vet tomorrow and see what he recommends for pain management. I know dogs can take baby aspirin but I don't know if it's safe for cats. I don't see why they can't give a liquid or oral pain reliever for her.

With my girls, my main worries were when they started to feel better and started trying to jump on things. My vet advised me to not let them jump up on anything for 10 days. Yeah, right. confused2.gif. My MIL's vet recommended her keep her cat caged for 10 days. That went over well.

Do you need to take Maia back to get her stitches out or do they dissolve?

One thing, she will probably puke at least once so be prepared.

I hope she starts feeling better soon! But, she WILL be ok. You're just a worried mommy.

oh Maia, I'm sorry you're having a rough go of it.... Lots of healthy vibes for her.

Much loves too :)

She has you to comfort her. You have time on your side. The meds the vet gave were for infection not pain. He must have forgotten that one.Laying still and not jumping around is the most important now. Wish a poem would come for this. But my brain is dry at the moment.

She is fortunate to have you.

Sending lots of get well soon vibes to the little beauty! vibes.gif

Aw get well soon Maia. Tubbs and Croc will be in the same boat come Saturday they are getting spayed and neutered at the same time. I had to put them both out of commision at the same time or one would harass the other while healing.

Just adding more vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gif

You should NOT feel bad having "done this to her." !!!!! This is GOOD for her! I don't know why you didn't do it before, and you don't need to explain... but it is SO much easier on them when they're little, they bounce right back. But she will be fine! agree.gifheartpump.gif

Thank you everyone for your vibes and kind words. I just feel so bad for her going through this, even though I know it is the best thing for her. I have been crying for days, I was a mes when I dropped her off at the clinic, I could barely see through my tears to fill out the papers. She is my life, my best friend, and knowing she wouldn't understand why any of this was happening to her made it even harder.

Last night was rough, we both got little sleep. She did eat a little canned food in the middle of the night and later with her probiotics early morning, but no water. I called vet first thing in morning for pain killers, my friend picked them up for me. She had a rough day, lots of pain, no food or water, I was to afraid to leave her alone........

I gave her a dose of pain killer around 7pm, she finally ate more food a half hour ago and is curled up on the bed I bought her yesterday resting. She also has been getting all her antibiotics in her. I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon myself, I'm just so worried about her! All day she just wanted to curl up between my legs on the bed like she normally would, which I would think is a good sign. Only thing was I couldn't move for hours, but anything for my baby girl to get through this. I won't leave her alone for longer then a shower till I know she is better and safe to.

Sending healing thoughts and energy to beautiful Maya.

I know how you feel.

We are so worried when our kitties are not well and in pain - they don't say much and just suffer.

I know about that.

We are in and out of Vets for almost two weeks now.

My May is recovering from a horrible injury to her leg caused by stray dogs.

I cried my eyes out watching her suffer.  She's been operated twice, because infection deep in muscle from dog's teeth is very stubborn and won't heal.

So sorry for your May! How horrid, attacked by a dog! I hope she is feeling better, lots of vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifFor her quick recovery!

Maia is doing so much better todayclap.gif! She actually got a little spunky tonight and did a quick trot across the floor with her tail up, and that was 2 hours after her pain killer was due, I haven't given it to her tonight yet! Shes eating, drinking, and pooped this morning which was a personal celebrationcrazy.gif! I have to keep her from licking her belly, which is every couple hours so I haven't had more then 2 hours of sleep at a time in 3 days, but I don't care, anything to make sure my baby is healed ASAP!
