We've adopted 2 kittens from our humane society. 1st home is Joey Hor-Hey & We believe he's a fire point siamese. The 2nd isnt home just yet, maybe tomarrow (7th) but no later then then 9th (YAY!) And she is a siamese but i dont know which type.  Can anyone tell us?

Hor-Hey was born in the shelter and is going on 9 months. Electra and were guessing she's around 5-6 months.

I wish I could help you identify the kind of Siamese they are....

I have asked a moderator to move your thread to our breeders corner.

You might get more feedback from knowledgeable members there.

Regardless, they sure are pretty kitties.

I don't think the male is Siamese. His face doesn't look Siamese-ish. He certainly is flame-point (not fire-point :)), but a regular domestic shorthair can carry the pointed gene. He's a handsome fella anyway.

The female might have some Siamese in her. Not show quality, but probably some purebreed in her background. Is she cross-eyed? It looks like it in that pic but it's kind of hard to see. She's pretty, and looks like a real sweetheart.

Are either of them loud and talkative? Siamese usually are.

What's the third kitten look like?

Hard to tell from the pic, but your little girl looks to be blue or chocolate point.

The little boy is definitely flame point, but Siamese actually don't come in flame-point, but color point shorthairs come in flame.

Wow, ty ladys because I surely dont know alot about the diffrent breeds in cats. Im sorry I dont have a 3rd - just these to.

Ive been looking, could my girl be a tonkinese? Ive seen alot more pictures online closer to her then a Siamese. I dont care, just out of curiosity of course. Because even if these 2 were in tabby they would have came home with us.!.!

They both are semi vocal, Ive know Siamese's to talk loud & alot my 2 have not done that. My boy has a orange tabby ring all around his tail so thats why I thought "fire point" But i even had that name wrong LoL! My girl is cross eyed, and she & my boy both have a very distinctive kink at the tip of there tails. Both of them love riding around on our shoulders like a scarf when were house cleaning or just lounging. Hor-hey (male) even loves to be a scarf when anyone comes over & has to use the restroom - my g/f was here the other day forgot to shut the door and he was on her quick and she was screaming for help. He gets up there and loves to lick your ear, cheek & chin!

Tonks are pretty rare and have very round heads. I doubt you'd see any Tonks out mating in the general population.

One of the posters here, Gareth, I believe it is has a Tonk kitten.

I think his girl is a champagne or natural solid, unsure which.

Let me see if I can find a thread with her pics.

They look like traditional Siamese to me, with more rounded heads.  You have a flame point (sometimes called a red point) and a blue point (possibly lilac point) but probably blue.  THey are sooooo cute!!!

Ty everyone! They are sooooo funny - my little electra has so much spunk and personality! We got to bring her home night before last, so we went out on a cat shooping spree!!! I have pics of all the goodies they got excpect the tree and I'll get pics of that - I stole it lol - it is 10 yo - barley looks used besides the slight wear of the sisal. So I steam washed it & sprayed it down with the vet disenfectent stuff & they LOVE IT! :)

The Tonks I have known have very soft fur, almost like mink. Both cats are probably mixes, but that is probably for the best! Pure Siamese truly are VOCAL!!!! Looks like the girl is blue or lilac and the boy flame. They are both beautiful. ou are so lucky to have them and THEY are lucky to have you!

I don't think either are Tonkinese, Tonks have Burmese in their background and they tend to be heavier in body weight that Siamese.  Your crosseyed girl may outgrow that or she may not, but they get along quite well because they don't know that things would look different if they weren't crosseyed.  Siamese are very vocal, not so much as kittens, but as they grow and learn that vocalizing will get them what they want from their "human servants", they will get more talkative.  They, like Burmese, want to be where the action is, where their humans are, and looking for as much trouble that they can get into.

You seem to have red point and blue point domestic shorthairs.

(There is no such thing as a flame point cat, goes to same category than tuxedos, grey, orange, buff, green and what other random things people sometimes mistakenly call their kitties
).

If everyone calls their Chevrolet a Chevy, then it's a Chevy, despite the fact there is no such car as a Chevy.  Right?  Flame point is in common usage, so there are flame point cats.

May I ask why do you seem to have such a huge issue with me telling the correct color terms? Let's say you are speaking to someone who has never known much about cars and you tell them about a random car called Chevy. They don't know car brands so they will not know that the correct brand is Chevrolet unless someone tells them, might even argue about it because they think Chevy is the official brand name or something completely different.

Would my cats turn into Persians if I made everyone call them Persians? No, I don't think they would.

I just don't think it's very nice to tell new members (or old for that matter) wrong terms. It'll just confuse things and possibly teach them to use the wrong terms in the future without maybe even knowing the real ones.

RE:  NorthernGlow's last comment ~  Hi.  I don't think that mrblanche really had an issue with you educating someone  on the proper terminology of their cat breed.  I believe he was just trying to say that maybe proper color terms are not  really all that important to some people.  This poster, sassygyrl even said as much in a previous post, that she didn't care  really, but was just curious.  Bottom line being that she loves her two kitties regardless of what anyone wants to call  them.  Personally, I had a black & white "Tuxedo" cat at one time.  That's what he looked like and most people know what it means, and I have even seen it used in print.  So he was a "domestic short-hair" cat with a specific black & white color pattern.  I didn't go around saying I had a domestic short-hair cat, I called him a Tuxedo.  It's not a breed, I know it's not a breed, my friends knew it was not a breed, it's just specific markings making him look like he had a tuxedo on.  If sassygyrl is content calling her boy a flame-point, there's nothing wrong with that.  Honestly, is it really that important?  To a breeder maybe, to an uppity rich person maybe, but to the average person, it's not.

Sassygyrl, I think your little girl has a lot of Siamese in her.  She has the long, lanky body style, and the long lean paws and the facial shape of a Siamese.  If she develops a very deep meow and becomes very vocal as she ages, it's possible that she is a full-blooded Siamese, just not a "registered cat with papers".  (Which doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned.)  As far as what "point" she is, I couldn't tell you that, but again, it doesn't really matter anyway.  What matters is that she is a beautiful girl and she looks happy and you gave her a loving home.  Your little boy does not have the proper body-shape of a Siamese.  Note the thickness of his paws and body compared to hers.  He is absolutely gorgeous, though, whatever he is, and he looks like a sweetheart of a kitten.  You have made a difference, because there are two less kittens sitting in a cage in a shelter now, and that's what is really important.  Love them dearly and play with them and keep them safe, and they will love you back with all their hearts.  They are so pretty!  And please, always encourage your friends to adopt from a shelter and save a life.  There are many wonderful cats sitting in shelters in need of homes.

Oh, and just for the record, I drive a CHEVY CAMARO.  I do believe that everyone knows what that is!
