RE: NorthernGlow's last comment ~ Hi. I don't think that mrblanche really had an issue with you educating someone on the proper terminology of their cat breed. I believe he was just trying to say that maybe proper color terms are not really all that important to some people. This poster, sassygyrl even said as much in a previous post, that she didn't care really, but was just curious. Bottom line being that she loves her two kitties regardless of what anyone wants to call them. Personally, I had a black & white "Tuxedo" cat at one time. That's what he looked like and most people know what it means, and I have even seen it used in print. So he was a "domestic short-hair" cat with a specific black & white color pattern. I didn't go around saying I had a domestic short-hair cat, I called him a Tuxedo. It's not a breed, I know it's not a breed, my friends knew it was not a breed, it's just specific markings making him look like he had a tuxedo on. If sassygyrl is content calling her boy a flame-point, there's nothing wrong with that. Honestly, is it really that important? To a breeder maybe, to an uppity rich person maybe, but to the average person, it's not.
Sassygyrl, I think your little girl has a lot of Siamese in her. She has the long, lanky body style, and the long lean paws and the facial shape of a Siamese. If she develops a very deep meow and becomes very vocal as she ages, it's possible that she is a full-blooded Siamese, just not a "registered cat with papers". (Which doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned.) As far as what "point" she is, I couldn't tell you that, but again, it doesn't really matter anyway. What matters is that she is a beautiful girl and she looks happy and you gave her a loving home. Your little boy does not have the proper body-shape of a Siamese. Note the thickness of his paws and body compared to hers. He is absolutely gorgeous, though, whatever he is, and he looks like a sweetheart of a kitten. You have made a difference, because there are two less kittens sitting in a cage in a shelter now, and that's what is really important. Love them dearly and play with them and keep them safe, and they will love you back with all their hearts. They are so pretty! And please, always encourage your friends to adopt from a shelter and save a life. There are many wonderful cats sitting in shelters in need of homes.
Oh, and just for the record, I drive a CHEVY CAMARO. I do believe that everyone knows what that is!
