Vibes for Tabby

Tabby is the first feral we've had with a medical problem (we were aware of) that we weren't able to get treated. Earlier this year - late spring/early summer, she was not walking on her front right leg/paw. We couldn't see an injury, and suspected a broken leg or sprained ankle. bawling.gif

But it healed.

Two days ago she was favoring the paw again. And as she's become much friendlier over the months, FINALLY I was able to get her to eat in the crate. I closed the door, and off we went.

The vet we don't like at this clinic as on duty tonight. So she's being boarded for the night, and our vet will see her tomorrow.

If you could spare some vibes that this is something easily treatable (at this point)... we'd really appreciate it! Her winter coat has come in so full and thick... but it's been unseasonably warm, and it's about to get really cold. I SO don't want to have to keep her in for any length of time..... cross.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifheartpump.gif

Well, I'm talking to myself here LOL, but the good news is that there is no sprain or fracture - and no sign of a former fracture! clap.gif In fact - no indication of ANY kind of problem with her foot or leg! So while we don't know why she's favoring it... at least there's not something that needs to be treated. biggthumpup.gif

The vet says she looks VERY healthy! She weighs 8 pounds, has a great fat layer, and a beautiful, thick winter coat. biggrin.gif

She's being treated for parasites, and we'll pick her up this afternoon. She did need to be anesthetized for her check-up and xrays. laughing02.gif

laughing02.gif So true! flail.gif

Stefan, I'll take those vibes for Tabby girl! She didn't stick around after we released her last night to eat. Of course, she may have been back after we went in. But she wasn't here this morning either. She is the odd one that will disappear for several days at at time... but she didn't eat at the vet. So I hope she's just wary of us again, and simply not showing herself when we're out there.

Of course... it's POURING RAIN and has been for 3-4 days now. The ground is water logged and there is nowhere to walk that there aren't puddles and squishy mud. This unseasonably warm weather turns tonight, and we're now expecting 4-6 inches of snow, and then the temp falls to below normal. At nights, starting tomorrow, it will be high teens - low 20s. (-7C to -5C). Last night the low was 48 (8C) - though it was still 60 degrees (15C) at midnight. !!!!!!!!! BIG swing for the babies!

She's probably afraid she'll get whisked off to the vet's again! I missed this thread when you asked for vibes, but will send Tabby some now for a good winter and continued good health. vibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gifvibes.gif

I saw on the weather all of the relentless rain you are getting frown.gif. And now that will freeze cold.gif The kitties will be fine in their wonderful, fur coats they are sporting for the winter month's. But it is hard not to worry. Tabby will recover from her vet trip and soon will show herself. She is there agree.gif, just being inconspicuous laughing02.gif

woohoo.gif We did NOT get any snow that stuck! clap.gif It was frozen over this morning, but no snow. AND it was sunny today, so while not dry, at least we're not all puddles anymore. laughing02.gif

AND..... Tabby was here for dinner! clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif Of course walking on her paw just FINE. I'm not usually one to even mention money, but that $400 could have TNRd the three cats we know are somewhere about..... sigh.gif Thank GOODNESS our vet lets us pay when we can, I was NOT expecting that one. thud.gif

Anyway, she's fine, and she's here, and it's not as cold tonight as they said it was going to be, so they do get a few days to transition down to the really cold winter weather on the way. agree.gif

Argh - the things these kitties put us through and hole in the wallet that follows from the trips to the vet to find out you have a healthy, fat and furry feral rolleyes.gif....... But that is always better than the other, bad news. At least you will know now if she is limping again that it is nothing that needs to be treated. laughing02.gif. And she will be parasite free biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif $400.00 later .........sigh.gif....... Wouldn't it be great if Dr. Summers could just overlook this one and chalk it up to "an overly protective/caring/loving feral meowmy caretaker" laughing02.gif. Well, in our dreams, right flail.gif
