We have had our cats on grocery food for a long time and I want to get them off of it as they get older and as the new teenager needs some better food as well I imagine. My local pet food lady recommended Lifetime Feline Plus as the best step up from grocery food in terms of likeliness that the cats will accept the sudden change in food quality (like going from junk food to 'health food') and price is another factor. What do you think about this food? I can't seem to find it much online. But I did track it down here. Please let me know thanks! I know it seems heavy on rice and oatmeal and barley. But it is grain free and has some chicken & turkey & fish meal. Is this any good? What would be the next step up? As it is this food would be about 40% more expensive than their current food. Meow

It's not terrible but definitely not grain-free. Rice, oatmeal and 'braley' (I'm assuming they mean barley) are all grains. Plus it.has.natural flavours which to me, means monosodium glutamate which is not good for humans either. IMHO, there is better. I think Taste of the Wild is reasonably priced from what I've read on this forum and many people like this food. It is.grain-free.

Thanks for checking into that for me and noting that. I guess I was lied to and didn't read far enough to verify the information. I will take a look at TOTW. I believe they had it in stock as well. How does the price compare?

Also wouldn't wet food be much more expensive than dry food? They loved this Ziwi Peak food in a can but it was a free sample so I don't know what it goes for. But it looked healthy. We have 4 hungry feline mouths to feed and one big canine as well.
