Does anyone know if you can use Polysporin drops (for human eyes) on cats? My boy Heathcliff got something in his eye and it's really red, the drops would help prevent infection......

You mean these ones?: http://www.polysporin.ca/en/p-eyeear.asp

I've used them before (upon a vet's recommendation) when one of my cats had a gunky eye. Are you sure Heathcliff got something in his eye? If so, it might have caused some damage to his cornea, or it might even still be in there. There are also other things that can cause red eyes, like glaucoma or uveitis. I don't tend to run to the vet for every little thing, but when it's an eye issue it's sometimes better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the info sugarcatmom. I had a better look at Heathcliff's eye and it's not the eyeball that's red. Turns out their is a small cut in the corner of his eye and it's the skin around it that's red. I started using the Polysporin and it looks much better already, he even keeps it all the way open now. He's using it fine, so I think I'll keep using the drops for now and just keep and eye on him.
