We made a family decision to add another kitten to our family. But my oldest daughter had other plans:) She looked on kijiji for one and found a 4yr old cat that is pregnant and is going to be landing on the streets if someone doesn't adopt her:( Well somehow she caught my attention. She is a tortie (a color I have always wanted). A real beauty!! I had to!

Well this is her second litter I was told. They also said that she was due in a day or so but I don't really think so.She's been here for 3 days now. I have done alot of reading online but I still need support and guidence. I have never had a pregnant cat. I spay/neuter my cats. She is not very big. I can still feel the kittens on the side of her body. I have no idea how far along she is. I guess I should have asked the question!

They did say she had 3 her last litter and only one survived. I am thinking she has 3 in her belly now. I don't have a working camera right now. I wish I could post a pic of her! She is so beautiful and a real sweetheart

Anyway after this litter she will be spayed:) But I would love some advice and information that you might have.

Then they're probably all still ok. When she sleeps a lot and doesn't have a very big appetite then she's close. My 'Queen' walked out of her room, meowed at me until I followed her then she'd go in her 'nest'. I'd pet her a while then get up and leave. She'd do the same thing over and over, then she stopped, so I went in and she's squating, then her water breaks!! We now have 6 beautiful kittens! Sometimes during the birthing they'll want you there, but some cats want nothing to do with you, my cat on the other hand got mad when I tried to leave, then I noticed how uncomfortable hardwood floors are to sit on for hours! Some cats are quiet while birthing, some meow, some cry, and some scream (like my cat although she has had a litter before). It's scary when they do that, just talk to her and make her feel comfortable and she'll most likely calm down. Some cat's milk don't come in until after birthing, and some cat's have milk 1-2 weeks before the kittens are born. When they're about ready, they'll be laying in their 'spot/nest', and you can CLEARLY see the kittens moving, this is the kittens positioning for birth. Hope I helped!
