Tip for cat owners: never thrust your hand into a shopping bag whose contents are unknown to you...

Last night, I saw what I thought was an empty shopping bag on the laundry room floor.  I did have a couple laying on the washer, waiting to go into the bag dispenser in the garage. I picked it up, and realized it had something in it. As I had some Christmas decoration boxes in there (Saturday was our family Christmas, and I, in my exhaustion, shoved things in the room to hide them before the company arrived), I thought I had left something in a bag. Seemed logical. I thrust my left hand into the bag, "I don't remember having unopened pine cones?!?".  They weren't pine cones.  Oh, no. I wish they had been pine cones. Guess what I pulled out? Hint: I use plastic shopping bags to scoop dirty litter into when I do the litter boxes in the garage...
DH had just carried the trash from the garage through the laundry room, and out the front door. One of those little "gifts" must have fallen out of the larger trash bag!

Even after several hand-washings with anti-bacterial dish soap and very hot water, I still don't feel clean...I'll never forget that dry, bumpy feeling on my hand!

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.

I am always worried about taking cat litter to work for lunch and throwing my lunch bag out. I scoop in the morning before work and then toss it out on the way to my car..lol..that would suck!!

Imagine how many freee lunches you could scam out of your co-workers if they saw that: "Wow, Jane--if we knew things were that bad in your household, we'd have chipped in to buy you food for the week!"
