I wanted to pick everyone's brains about what kind of treats your cats like most. My cats, I have 2, turned into kitty "crack heads" (pardon the expression) when they would get any kind of toy with Cat nip in it. But they haven't really taken to any other toy or treats since I stopped letting them have cat nip. I know it sounds totally strange, I swear they have the stubborn personality of teenage kids. Anyways, I was able to find this website that offers toys that taste like either sardines, chicken or tuna. My cats have started to take a liking to one called "kick'n chicken" it claims to taste like chicken but its a soft plush toy similar to a cat nip pillow. Here is the website if anyone is interested. http://www.thunderpaws.com/

Please feel free to leave your comments about other treats and toys I should try

For toys, well some of the best toys for our cats are balls that jingle. The younger cats will play and play with them, chasing them around the kitchen floor. I think right now there's probably about 16 balls in the kitchen and the living room. Mollipop and Tabby really enjoy them. They also like the Turbo "thingy" which is just a circle with a ball in a tube or track that they can bat around in a circle; the center of the tube is simply a circular piece of cardboard that Molli likes to use to sharpen her claws....we have two of those and one that's similar, except it has a mouse instead of a ball.

The girls really like their  little mice. They'll carry them around the house in her mouth. You can buy them from local pet stores; we buy from Foster and Smith and they're adorable. There are 48 little mice in a box that's shaped like a wedge of cheese. I buy them about every six months or so. All the cats will play with them, but Molli and Tabby just love them.

Try Da Bird or a similar wand-type toy with a bird or tail that's tied to a string that is then tied to the wand. Our girls love to play with their Da Birds. We also have catnip pillows and the like and all seven of the cats will play with them. We have found that each cat needs his or her own catnip pillow....there is so sharing when it comes to the pillows.

We have a Deli-Dome. It's filled with plastic balls that are filled with dry cat kibble and as the balls roll across the floor, the treats fall out of the holes. We have it set to release a ball about every two hours or so while we're gone. They way they get exercise and they also get to eat treats at the same time.

The cats have their own aquarium. It's not real; it's just a small tank with fake grass, fish and seahorses. When we plug the filter in, everything moves around and they'll watch it for hours. It's probably about two feet tall. They enjoy it.

As for treats, we don't do much in the way of treats anymore. If we do, it's usually Whisker Lickins or something similar. We used to give Pounce, but I believe Pounce was on the list a few years back when the pet food from China had contained melamine. Anyway, we stopped giving Pounce to them.

I hope that helps.

I looked at the website and wasn't impressed by the toys. The kickin chicken for example, had small parts that could dislodge and be ingested by your cat. The same was true of many of the toys on that site. Some of the other toys appear to come from China. It doesn't look like they had cats in mind when they picked these toys.

I know that some people make toys cute to please a cat's owner. But things like little eyes and noses come off and are eaten, which is not good for a cat. Yup, the toy is more boring to people without these things, but they are safer for your cat. Your cat doesn't car if its toy has wiggling eyes!

And I'm curious how they got chicken aroma on a cat toy without using chicken products, which could spoil over time.
