New Kitty

So i adopted a new kitty. We had to put maryjane down. We just got her last night. She's an adult. Her behavior is unusual. Now i know being in a new home can be scary. She rubs on everything and likes when i talk to her. She growls or what sounds like growling while she's acting lovey dovey. Like she doesn't know whether to hate us or love us. Its also going to take us awhile to get used to a different cat. I have other pets i hope she can deal with. They're caged though. I talk to her and she seems like she's coming out from under my end table but she doesn't. At least she made it from under the bed to under the table. Heres a pic of Maggie. I really hope she does well here. The guy said she's friendly. We'll give her time to adjust.

She's a beautiful cat and it sounds like she is adjusting to her new home well.  All of the rubbing is making it her territory.

The best thing to do with her is to allow her to approach you.  When she is under the end table, sit nearby and talk or read to her so she becomes more familiar with you.  Giving her treats will also help her to associate you with good things.  Keep a regular routine for cleaning her litter box and feeding.

We have been letting her come to us. All i have to do is talk to her and she rubs all over and comes on the couch with me.

She sounds adorable.  I'm sure she will gain all sorts of confidence and be a fully involved member of your family.

I sure hope so. She's under the table most of time unless i talk to her then she comes. Hopefully she comes out more on her own.

I'm sure she'll come out more once she gets more comfortable with her surroundings. She is a beautiful cat!

I really think that you have nothing to worry about.  She looks so comfortable there that it is hard to believe she's only been there a couple of days.

Thats a pic from her previous owners home. She's coming around. She's getting on the couch more. She twirls and rubs on everything when i talk to her. She got on the bed a little while last night. She's a lover for sure. I can't wait til she's that comfy here. Thanks for asking.

Mine alternately growl and whimper...it's just too precious. They pee everywhere and claw me to death, but I don't care. I'm their meowmy and they are my babies agree.gif
