My daughter's semi dance is coming up, tomorrow.... which has inspired todays question.

Can you dance? What kind of dancing?

When you were in school did you go to any dances?

I took ballet for many years as a kid. I guess I can still do THAT, however, the only time I believe I can dance at a party is after having a few, ahem, adult beverages. I've seen videos. I cannot dance.

I like it but only when I have a few drinks in me, I am an awkward dancer..lol

I used to go to all the dances at school though.

:yeah:

DH and I will dance at weddings, but he gets really aggrevated at me because I always try to lead. He really has horrible rhythm, so it throws me off when I follow him. We're both Polish, so when we do attempt to polka (which we do at every family wedding), it looks like a wrestling match. :lol3:

Been there, done that. I think its a polka, a happy dance, 'Roll out The Barrel', not 'Unchained Melody' !

I would probably be an ok dancer if I wasn't self conscious about it.  DD and I boogie all the time!

I will dance to whatever is on; but no headbanging/jumping all over.  That's not dancing.  Come to think of it; that's probably the best kind of "dancing" for me!

DH and I have danced together a total of 3 times. And 2 were at our wedding.

I took dance lessons for about 5 years when I was a kid.  4 years were Jazz, the first was ballet and tap.  My step-father is Puerto Rican, so any get together with his family usually involves Latin music and dancing.  I don't participate.  DH would never even consider it.

I went to most of the dances in high school.  We only ever had Homecoming and Prom though.  I think I only missed one Homecoming.  I only ever had a date for my senior prom though.  I still wish I'd just gone with my friends like before.  It was always more fun.

I took ballroom and swing lessons.

I would have been scorned by my brother otherwise, as he was a Fred Astaire dance instructor and competition dancer.

I went to one school dance and was a wallflower, never went to another, I have a hard time spending money on something just to be bored.

I had many kinds of dance lessons when I was growing up, ballet, ballroom,  but my favorite was the foreign dances of different kinds. I was also in a theater company, so we had to learn Scottish, gypsy, and folk dances.

I have become very clumsy in my old age, but DH and I sometimes listen to music and slow dance in the living room. He's so sweet and romantic.

I can't dance. Not even going there. I won't do it in public, but have been known to dance with BooBoo!
