I have a domestic long hair/maine coon cat and he regularly grooms himself and had hairballs probably once every 2-3weeks. Recently, he hasnt had a hairball in maybe almost 3-4weeks(we will give him hairball cream here and there to help prevent them too). My concrn is that beginning 2 nights ago my cat did the motions and sounded like he was going to get a hair ball but nothing came out!!! There was a little bit of saliva but ultimately, no vomit or hairball. This happened AGAIN last night too! He seems to be fine once hes done and has no trouble eating but is this normal??? Someone help please!!

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

Sounds like a really stubborn hairball to me! Keep up with the hairball paste and keep an eye on him, but if it keeps up or his behavior changes at all, you might want to take him to the vet just to be safe. Good luck!
