This is my daughter and this is her first baby, my first grandbaby.  She is a contented, happy little girl already.  Tonight I was burping her and had her on my shoulder and she lifted her head - she's only 24 hours old!  I'm amazed.

I didn't say anything in the first post but my daughter almost died.  She was bleeding and they could not stop the bleeding.  They had to give her a hysterectomy to save her life.  One of the older nurses said that in her whole career she had only ever seen this happen once before - about a year and a half ago - and the mother did not survive.  So, we are incredibly lucky to have my daughter alive.

God was with us yesterday.

My daughter came out of ICU this afternoon and is in with her baby now.  She is doing well.

Oh Linda, what a scary experience, but thank God your daughter and little Zoe are doing well now. Many get well soon :vibes:: vibes:: vibes::vibes: and prayers being sent out for your daughter for a fast recovery (I'm sorry, I can't find the emote on the smiley page, but the vibes are from the heart). And congrats on your new granddaughter!!! Zoe is precious! Now, spoil her rotten!! We expect many updates and pics!

Oh my god how frightening. I'm so glad your daughter is alright now, and that you both have beautiful Zoe to cherish. You know there are dangers to childbirth, but you never really think something like that could happen. I hope your daughter recovers quickly.

Congratulations on becoming grandma to "thunder thighs" though! :lol3: She is lovely.

Oh Linda, how terrible for everyone. I am so happy for you that she has come out of it OK. I am sure that now you are all looking forward to having both of them home and well.
