I adopted Magnus a couple of days ago (november 25 2011) from a cat rescue group and he's six months old. I am told he's a Maine Coon mix but I don't know if there is really any way of verifying that as his mom was feral. either way, he's super cute and my husband and I are totally in love with him already. His color is a little hard to photograph. he has grey and white in his undercoat (as well as some faded black) but it is not showing in these photos. He has the softest fur I've ever felt.

These are the first few photos we've taken, while he's still being acclimated to his new home. (we just have him in the bathroom and the bedroom for now).

He looks a bit like a persian in this above photo, but I think it's just the angle I took it at made his nose look snubbier.

thanks guys.

I've just been playing wtih him some more. I think he should be out and about the whole place in maybe another couple of days. He keeps venturing further and further from his hidey hole before making mad dashes back if something startles him.

At first very shy looking but good to see a playful and sweet kitty, congratulations and thanks for rescuing! ;)

thanks guys.

Magnus is still staying under the bed (at least during the day), but comes out to play with us when we come in the room and coax him out. Then if something startles him (somebody stands up or walks in the room, for example) he goes back under the bed. lol. Anyway, just trying to be patient because I can't wait for my little beastie to hang out all the time with us.

He does not seem scared under the bed though;, in fact, I often hear him playing around there, and he'll purr if you talk to him or come up to you if you try and pet him. He roams around the bedroom at night checking things out too. Also he comes out to eat and use the bathroom and usually he stays out and plays with us after he comes out for a bit. This is Day 3 we've had him though, so I figure by another few days he should be hopefully confident enough to stay out from under the bed most of the time (unless he needs some quiet time or something).

Am I the only one who wants to bury his fingers and face in that thick black fur?
