Okay, We got two new cats in the same week. There both brothers and we felt bad for taking one so we got both. the were both described as shy. the one kitty (oscar) was on the first day but nows he awesome. i posted about him earlier with some questions.

But now my other 6mo kitty named Armani

He didnt eat drink or go to the bathroom. He just sits were ever you put him. but now today hes doing alot better. he was playing with toys running and hiding. (he hides under the bed when he can)

Today until 10 min ago he ate. NOT CAT food. he ate Human food. Roman noodles. (beef :D ) it was amazing he was just gobbling them. But thats not right. we still wont drink. Weve tried for him to eat of 5 different types of cat food. even smooshed. (only 1)

we dont know what else to do and were really worried. we need help and were eally scared. the cat is so loving and he loves to be held. his tail used to be in between his legs. but not today and still the same holding. but we need help! please!!

New cats should be put in a "safe room", a small guest room or even bathroom will work.   Somewhere you can close the door and let them feel safe and relaxed.    The room should have water, food, and litterbox nearby.

Ask the shelter or whomever you got him from what dry food he was eating before, and make that available 24x7.   If none, then find a highly palatable one. Then I would get a fish flavored wet food and present that three times a day.   Just put it in the room perhaps near a safe spot (under a bed) and just close the door and let the shy kitten go at his own pace.   Some cats can become almost paralyzed when afraid, so he may not so much enjoy being held but just not moving.  Even purring can sometimes just be a sign of ultimate submission "don't hurt me I'm friendly" rather than enjoyment, as Wesley was purring at the vet for example although obviously afraid at his first checkup.

For Wesley and Buttercup, I let them be for a while in their safe room together, and then just went in there and ignored them and slept on the couch there for a week, just so they could get used to me.   When they want to explore more and get your attention, they will let you know.

When adopting a new cat, typically you also get a free first vet visit, and I assume that there were no medical issues found at that time.  If not, you would want to schedule that, and they can see if the cat is dehydrated and provide subq. fluids (little camel hump on the back).

You may also consider force feeding if it goes on any longer, and members can provide tips on how to do it with the least stress.

My cats really enjoy beef flavor wet cat food, over any other flavor. You can even try dry treats if dry food & wet food isn't working but please stay away from the majority of people food, especially ramen noodles. The sodium content in that is so high...and I can't find the ingredients online but please be sure that there is no onion power/flavoring in the ramen as onion is very harmful to cats.

When I brought one of my cats home he didn't eat the dry food for two days but ate dry treats and wet food. Within a few days he realized the wet food was only twice a day in small amounts as a treat, and the dry food was for the times between the wet, and he started eating the dry food.

Has the cat been de-wormed or vet checked? I would recommend having a vet check the kitties out because worms can cause a cat to have no appetite. Can you try to open a can of food and keep the cat in a room alone w/ food, water and a litterbox for the majority of the time for a day or so so you can easily track if they eat/use the litter box?

Another thing to try, which I had to use at one point when I had a cat who wasn't eating-plain chicken/meat baby food. Only the kind that is plain meat, nothing mixed in. I scooped some of it out in a bowl and gave it to the cat, and then later when they wouldn't eat on their own, syringe fed it to them. The cat ended up getting dewormed the next day and was fine after that and started eating within 12 hours of being dewormed, which is why I suggest a vet check/deworming if they have not yet had that.

Highly palatable dry foods = Purina, Purina One; junk, but works every time.
Highly palatable wet: Fancy Feast -
You can then transition for better foods..... But you should call the place where you got him and ask the food he was on it pronto - put him on the same food, as cats shouldn't switch dry foods that fast anyways :wavey:
