my cat, zala rose, is like a normal kitty- fat, cute, alert, affectionate, and just the best kitty i could ever dream of. when we first got her, we noticed poop on the outer part of her anus, and we still see it today. is that a sign of diarrhea? she already has been treated for worms, and she seems to get the nutrition she needs. is something wrong with her?

please reply, thank you!

First of all, how is a cat being fat normal? No offense, but a fat cat is a recipe for health problems like diabetes, heart problem, etc.

Check her litter box, is there diarrhea in it? That is how you will know. Is she eating normally? Drinking? If she does have diarrhea, she needs fluids. You could try giving her a teaspoon of pumpkin (NOT the pie filling!). Or take her to the vet.

First of all, thank you for replying. that means a great deal to me.

when i say she is fat, i mean that she is 8 pounds and very plump- not a health risk, well i dont think.

She has a hard poop every once in a while, but the rest of the time her poops look squishy. i have seen her make diarrhea once, but that was a while ago. im not sure- when i do her litter box, i cant really tell what is diarrhea or a squishy poop.

She is eating and drinking normally. i might try the pumpkin.

thank you very much, SweetPea24!

No problem. Just keep in mind that 1 pound on a cat is equivalent to 10 pounds on a human so each pound your cat is overweight, will have the same effect as 10 pounds on a human. Cats don't handle diseases like diabetes very well and it is expensive to figure out what dose of insulin. Maybe just feed.her a bit less.

As for your cats's bowel movements, if the.diarrhea is consistent then take her to the.vet. diarrhea can cause dehydration which cause more.problems.
