I have a question - by reading the link.... This sounds to me like a bit of a hoarding situation....

Quote:
Minerva Love took in more than 100 cats from several Georgia animal control shelters...almost all are living with her at her home. They did not go to fosters. They were not adopted out. These cats need to be rescued from this situation. (...) All are flea invested, many have upper respiratory infections, some have ringworms. Unfortunately, not all the cats she took in from the animal controls made it.
I understand Minerva's love and desire to help save these cats; but this is not good for her, her family, or any of the cats. If you can help, please chip-in.
So, my question is - where is this money going to, who is taking care of the money, who are the donations going to? Not to the lady, I hope, is it? Is the money going directly to the rescue? Goodmews?
It sounds to me you can donate to the rescue per the following instructions:
Quote:
You can donate directly to Good Mews on behalf of Sascha's (Minerva Love) cats. This will help them greatly; and hopefully, will allow them to be able to take more from her.
But if you Chip in, the money goes straight to Minerva.
I am sorry... Not judging here, but sounds to me Minerva, no matter how good how heart is, is way over her head here, and someone needs to step up if this is going to work out. IMHO this money should go straight to the rescues who will take the kitties in, and not for her.... My concern is that if she does get the money, things will get better for a little while, kitties will perhaps get vetted once, or flea medicine for the month.... But $$$ only goes so far... That doesn't guarantee that they will be adopted out and things will be better permanently - which is what needs to happen for her and these babies. These cats need to be rescued and adopted out, therefore funds should go straight to rescue.
My opinion only, for what is worth.
