A kind lady, Minerva Love, is in great need of donations. She has been rescuing cats from local shelters that would have been euthanized now she has become overwhelmed due to her illness (systemic lupus). She has 100 cats that are in need! The link below has been set up to collect funds needed to get them into other rescues...other wise animal control will seize the cats. They will be right back where they started! Even if you could donate $1, $ 5 or whatever you could we could help save these cats!

I have a question - by reading the link.... This sounds to me like a bit of a hoarding situation.... :(
Minerva Love took in more than 100 cats from several Georgia animal control shelters...almost all are living with her at her home. They did not go to fosters. They were not adopted out. These cats need to be rescued from this situation. (...) All are flea invested, many have upper respiratory infections, some have ringworms. Unfortunately, not all the cats she took in from the animal controls made it.
I understand Minerva's love and desire to help save these cats; but this is not good for her, her family, or any of the cats. If you can help, please chip-in.
So, my question is - where is this money going to, who is taking care of the money, who are the donations going to? Not to the lady, I hope, is it? Is the money going directly to the rescue? Goodmews?

It sounds to me you can donate to the rescue per the following instructions:
You can donate directly to Good Mews on behalf of Sascha's (Minerva Love) cats. This will help them greatly; and hopefully, will allow them to be able to take more from her.
But if you Chip in, the money goes straight to Minerva.

I am sorry... Not judging here, but sounds to me Minerva, no matter how good how heart is, is way over her head here, and someone needs to step up if this is going to work out. IMHO this money should go straight to the rescues who will take the kitties in, and not for her.... My concern is that if she does get the money, things will get better for a little while, kitties will perhaps get vetted once, or flea medicine for the month.... But $$$ only goes so far... That doesn't guarantee that they will be adopted out and things will be better permanently - which is what needs to happen for her and these babies. These cats need to be rescued and adopted out, therefore funds should go straight to rescue.
My opinion only, for what is worth.

The money is so the licensed rescues will take the cats. She can't keep the cats at all. Animal Control is or has gotten involved and told her they do not want to see any cats on her property. Everything donated is for the rescue groups.

What other rescue groups are involved, do you know? Surely only one rescue group can't take 100 cats.... Can that post be edited with the information of the other rescue groups involved? Does she have rescue groups in place already? Or is she still trying to work that out? Is GoodMews the only one who has stepped up to the plate at this point?
Does she have a site, or anything available with that information? If ChipIn can't be updated (If I remember correctly, it can't), how can people donate to the other rescue groups?
Just trying to see that these babies are taken care of if people want to donate to the rescue groups, and I think that's the way she would get most of donations.... And one rescue won't take all of them :(

Good mews is the only one that has stepped up so far. A few other people who are helping have been talking to other places to get help. She doesn't have a website. I would post her facebook link but it will be deleted. I can send it in a message to whoever would like more info. I'm sure she is willing to talk to anyone about this if they are willing to help.
