 Hello,

I just moved to Irving, Texas (in the Dallas area) and need some input from anyone that can make some suggestions.  I don't really know anyone here to ask that loves their animals as much as everyone on this forum.  I need a specialist for one of my cats that has Megacolon (along with other severe poop issues), kidney issues, and a deformed spine.  He is a Manx and is around 11 years old.  He had all these issues since he was little and was only supposed to live for a year or so.  Well he showed everyone!
I had incredidible access to specialists and hospitals for him, but now I've been forced to located in a new place.  Also, my dog has congestive heart failure and severe liver issues and some other ailments so a specialist is also needed for my dog.  The rest of the critters have no issues as of yet (thank the Lord).  So anyone know of some good Vets?

Any help would be sooooo appreciated!

Thanks,

Babz

First, welcome to Texas. Hope you enjoy 110+ heat :(

Ronald Vaughn, DVM is amazing!! I love him!!

Their office has all kinds of amenities for overnighters! (including a swimming pool for dogs lol)

And as for a specialist, I have never needed one- thank Goodness..

But this team gets high recommendations from several friends of mine They also have neurology/neurosurgery and internal medicine specialists as well as general DVM.

For cats only ;)

I have several friends who recommend them as well -  I have moved out of the DFW area, but that is a good starting point!

I have to HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hartland at Hartland cat hospital. She is a feline specialist and is wonderful. I've never been to a  wonderful, kind and caring as she is. And, they have a fully functioning lab Onsite so there is no waiting days for lab results and they have always been awesome about squeezing my kitties in when they need to be seen. Both my DH and I think very highly of her.

Dr. Escobedo at Cornerstone - AMAZING, AMAZING, can't say enough how amazing he is :heart3: Saved Bugsy's life...... When Bugsy had an almost year long diarrhea, Dr. Escobedo was there for him like no one else would be.... He researched on his own time.... Called his peers, called me 2x a week to check on my boy after his shift was over, so he could spend time with me on the phone discussing Bugsy's case in length.... I don't even know how many hours we spent on the phone discussing Bugsy's case - many.... and I was never charged a dime for it. He was open for traditional and non-traditional treatments... He is through and through an animal, and cat lover - he has your pet in his heart all the way. I trust him with my eyes closed. To me, he is the best vet ever.
His hospital is amazing too, they have everything in there.
Awesome vet!!

Hello Everyone!
I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to reply in awhile!  I had back surgery and was out of it for quite longer than expected.

Anyway, I need to express my thanks to ALL of you for helping me out!  I knew that there had to be someone that could help and it would be coming from people that love their animals as much as I (we) do.  And would do anything they can for them.

Thank you!
 Thank You!
  AND Thank you sooooo much!

If I had a 'special needs' cat and was moving, I'd ask my current vet if they know of any in my new area.  They might not be able to help, but there again they might.
