Torn Paw Pad?

OK, so my cat had a big old fight with another cat and he's came in with a very torn paw pad

it was bleeding for a bit but settled down, it looks a bit infected though I can't be sure because he won't let me look at his paw.

What shall I do? I'm trying to leave the vet alone but is the vet THAT important right now?

I'd say yes, the vet is important, esp if that paw pad is infected....the infection could get worse. Whenever I'm unsure about something, it doesn't hurt to make an appt. At the very least, why don't you call your vet and see what he or she says about the pad? Good luck with him!
