The tree had not been up even TEN minutes and the little one was starting to bite the cord :(

I'm eerily reminded of the scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, in fact I made bandit watch it :)

In case you don't know or remember what happened to the cat who chewed the Christmas lights... He gets fried big time.

I used to end up buying new strings of lights every year because Jamie "helped" me put up the tree, got tangled up in the lights and broke them. I didn't dare walk out of the room if they were plugged in. After eleven years of that, I broke down and bought a set of battery-operated, remote-controlled Christmas tree lights last year. They were a bit pricey, but definitely a lot less than all those new strings of lights every Christmas.

I am too, my cats love to climb the tree. I have 4 that are 6-7 months old and Chloe is estimated to be only a year when I adopted her. Not to mention the kittens in the bathtub will not be in there all the time much longer and will be out and playing before too long.

Well so far so good. Since that initial thing, Bandit has steered clear of the tree. Remember when I said bandit was truly a genius cat? He is. This gets added to the list

"Chewed wires but stopped once mommy showed him the christmas vacation video of a cat getting kitty-fried"

Luna chewing the lights is what ended my Christmas tree last year. Made it to the weekend before Christmas.
