I am going to my aunts for Thanksgiving this year. I anticipate being back in the evening , but there is a chance I may be stuck for the night as I have to use a ferry because she is on an island (Washington uses lots of ferries to get around). Anyways, if the weather is bad or I miss the ferry I would spend the night and come home in the morning. Is it ok to leave my two cats overnight? I have never left them before and feel badly. I would leave extra food and water out. (They also have a drinkwell fountain) I would also clean all the litterboxes before I left. I have three for the 2 of them. I also worry about leaving my birds and rabbit, but I can give extra food and water and am sure they will be fine over night and their lights are on timers. I will have my dog with me so don't have to worry about them. It's not an ideal situation but am guessing they will be ok, if a little angry at me.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

Working my night shift for near 10yrs now, I would leave the cats alone for 13hrs overnight all the time, they were fine. Like you I had two water fountains and an auto-feeder to give em a meal at 11PM. I did end up getting a internet accessible monitor for them, but when I'm not home they laze around and sleep mostly anyway.
So when back just expect them to be super excited with lots of energy ready to play, heh!

You're, no doubt, gone by now and on your way to your aunt's house. I'm sure your kids will be fine when you get home, although they may let you know they weren't happy about you being gone so long. We don't leave our kids alone for longer than one day. If we leave early in the morning and know we're coming home that same night, we're know they should be OK....albeit hungry til we get back home (we cannot free-feed). But they're OK. Longer than one day, though, and our petsitter will come in to check on things.
