Worms.. Signs, types, holistic treatments

What are the signs of worms? Oliver has been picking at his bum and legs recently, like he's irritated by something there. We did an exam on him and his eyes, nose, ears, anus and pee-hole are all clean and clear. He has energy to play and meow, he eats and drinks and uses his litter box.. Everything about him is as normal as he was when he brought him home but there are tell tale signs of something. He likes to look out the window in the bathroom so when he comes up or down he uses the closed toilet as the level. The top of the toilet has little bits of blood on it which isn't a lot but it worries me. I'm pretty sure there's something going on in his belly, lower colon or something. I was thinking worms and so what do you guys think?

What types of worm can he possibly have? It's not tapeworm bc I've dealt with tapeworm before with my dog and there's no evidence in Oliver. His breathing is fine too.

Friday I'm getting my holistic blend de-wormer to try on him. After that we'll take him to the vet (I need to have him for a check-up anyway) or we'll take him if it doesn't improve before then. I heard of diatomaceous earth (or whatever it's called) and I think I'll order some as a preventative anwyay- what do you guys think of DE? Or if you have any other suggestions of holistic remedies then please share them! :D

   Thanks!

I do not know what may be causing his issues.

I have used and use DE internally for my pets and myself for quite sometime.

It does work.

This link has basic info and dosage guidelines for many issues.

It's basic stuff.

Thanks! That's the site I was on earlier. If I'm to go for a 30 day treatment should I get the 2lb bag? At 1 tsp once or twice a day it should last shouldn't it??

2 pounds between myself, a large dog, and three average sized cats lasts about 2 months.

Excellent :) Then I'll order some. Any tips on how to feed it to a cat? o.o He's going to the vet hopefully Saturday so I might get some syringes off them.. Would I mix it with water and squirt it down his throat? Or does mixing it with water defeat the purpose of the little particles that cut up the parasites from inside?

I mix it in canned food, they don't seem to notice.

I put half the daily amount in their morning meal, and half in their evening meal.
