Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myselft taut, or rasie my hands to the sky and want more than all the world, your return.

Here's another one I liked.

It's the specail Things in Life
That make it mean so much
The Sun, The Rain, The Sky;
The thoughts and the touch.

If we let these precious things
float to an endless sea,

We lose our hope, our love,
and most, our reason to be.

Thank you for sharing those two poems! Indeed, there's much to be said in favor of appreciating today. All too often I'm thinking about tomorrow or next week, when the present day is right there in front of me — beckoning.
